I would love to see Fode and Beed removed as the pod racing announcer and replaced by some sort of Droid that doesn't speak in an annoying voice !!

Fode and Beed should go, and not be replaced at all.

^Word. That was pure goofiness, as was the whole diner scene, especially with that stupid robot waitress.

Redubbing the droid analysis deleted scene would let us remove that whole diner scene, as well as the yoda younglings scene AND the library scene. Man those were unnecessary!

It'd be cool to see a few of those shots used in ROTS — just about anything that isn't a mid/long shot looks as realistic as the CG in the movie itself, and the idea of a bunch of Siths assaulting the temple does appeal to me. (We'd have to dump the Rule of Two but that's about it.)

No need at all :D

Issues have TPM and AOTC. Especialy the first.

Im not talking about the sith invasion. Im talking for some establihing shots :)

HOLY SHIT! My geek gland just became fully engorged.

That is absolutely beautiful!

Anyone considered redoing the prequels as Machinima?

There is a thread where people suggested starting from scratch with animation :

http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic.cfm/STAR-WARS-Movies-Animated/topic/10088/

Yeah, the thread kinda died, but I really loved the prospect. Perhaps in about 5 years there will be huge advances in technology and few of us on here can actually make this happen. I thought there were some really strong story ideas flowing.

Yeah, I'd been following that thread pretty much from its conception (before I became a member). Then it unfortunately fizzled out. :(

I would dearly love to replace some of the more silly podracer pilots with genuinely alien aliens, some of them look like they had escaped from the Munch Bunch or Mr Men universe.

The Stig would make more sense than that lot ;-)

This chap has got to go :

Crappy Alien

Although I agree with you there is one tiny flaw with your logic

THE STIG WOULD KICK ANAKIN & SEBULBA'S ASSES ;-)

That Star Wars:The Old Republic game is set over 3500 years before the rise of Darth Vader according to the official blurb on their site, does technology advance at a snails pace in the Star Wars universe or what, as this looks pretty much like it's set around the prequel trilogy looking at it and it's ships, cruisers etc... ?

I suppose that the Star Wars Galaxy would hit a technological plateau where there wouldn't be that much of a change for thousands of years.

Technology has been rapidly advancing for us since the Industrial Revolution but before that it stayed pretty much the same for a very long time.

If we reached a point where all things that were practicle for us to use were discovered (or discovered to be impossible to build) we might settle back until our circumstances changed when we found new problems to solve.

You'd assume that weaponry would become more powerful in 3500 years, everything looks just the same as we're used to seeing, blasters etc... And you'd assume a city like Coruscant would be in need of a serious face lift, most city's change over a few hundred years, Coruscant again lkooks pretty much the same, don't they have different periods of architecture in the Star Wars universe !? :)

That's how I always explained it. Technology can only get so advanced before it's unimprovable. Like a technological singularity.

plus if the game looked completely alien to the popular star wars films, i guess people wouldnt be able to make the link.;)

i like that the jedi have armour, theres something slightly archaic about that, though i wish the mandalore woman and the sith were a bit more iron like.

The Jedi having armour was one of my favourite things about the Clone Wars (non CG) cartoon.

And it spawned this:

Sideshow Star Wars Obi-wan Kenobi in Clone Armor action figure

I want.

I guess in my own little fantasy world, the Old Republic would look more like McQuarrie art and less like ROTS. That being said, Bioware (Like Gendy Tartakovsky before them) showed us all once again that anyone BUT Lucas can make Jedi supreme badasses.

Would have loved to seen Obi Wan in armour in episode 3, would have reminded me more of a knight of the round table. Would have loved to see him fight Grievous in it on Utopau.

Anyways, i know its been done in magnoliafan's edit but cant the droids be either redubbed completly over the PT or just episode 3. I like the idea of english speakin droids that say roger roger. Stupid George gave them personalities in epi 3. I think it was very stupid that Neimodians got critised for soundin asian, they have no noses, hold ur nose and talk, you will sound like them lol

I for one cannot wait for the new Star Wars The Old Republic game. Hopefully the Star Wars MMO will be done well this time. I just wish something new would happen in Star Wars without everyone using it as an excuse to retread their dislike of Lucas and Star Wars. Cant you just enjoy that awesome trailer and leave it at that? Becuase I for one would just love to say GODDAMNEDTHATWASFUCKINGAWESOME!!!!!!!!!

As for the advancment of tech in Star Wars, yeah Ive always thought that it proceeded very slowly, but it's just something Ive come to accept about Star Wars.

This is Bioware's first venture into the MMO market, which leaves me a little bit worried that TOR won't live up to expectations, but not very.

RPGs are their specialty, and the fact that this one is online hopefully won't make any difference. In fact, it could work to their advantage. They are the gods of story driven RPGs, and that's the one thing most MMOs lack.

The release of any Bioware Star Wars game is always going to be followed by criticism of Lucas, because let's face it, Bioware know how to write Star Wars better than he does!

If the trailer is anything to go by, this will be EPIC!

All it needs IMO, to be truly great is a thriving in game economy, and player owned spaceships (possibly with space battles) a la EVE online, but that might be asking a little too much.

That sir, right there, is exactly what I am talking about
