Here are two versions of a Hoth landscape in Vue, the first is using Vue's own sky generator and the 2nd is a high rez photograph mapped onto a plane and positioned behind the mountains.

That second one looks dope, any chance you could render a test vid?

I'll have a go at rendering a vid with the photgraphic sky and speeding up the camera !!

You could even make it an animatic if you could overlay a speeder cockpit into the frame. Could look neat-o. At any rate, it's great to see others being able to help out on the project and even though there are no more previews, this kinda/sorta is one, innit? ;)

Whoa Serji-X Arrogantus, just looking at some of your stuff from your CG art blog, then im sold, partially.

Exellent to have you on board, and i hope Ady can use your tallents for this project now, and in the future, maybees.

This maybe the biggest project you get associated with.

Wow Serji-X Arrogantus, great looking CG there. Hope Ady can find some use for it.

Maybe he can use his own Hoth-sky on your rendering.

I've started doing a test render of the landscape with the photographic sky, but on my crappy old machine it'll take overnight no doubt, I'm looking into buying a new PC within the next few weeks if not sooner !!

The work on your site looks mightily impressive, Serji. It's great to see someone with CG skills on the forum!

I've tried that mac program and I hated the results.  I personally prefer doing it all manually in After Effects - much better control over the movement and timing of everything.

Besides, Ady uses a PC.

Prompted by your post Enigmas I took a peep too and oh boy great stuff! (only we don't do Tripods...ever).

Man...building sets, pro cg artists on board. This is shaping up to be a huge project! Something Lucas and ILM with their millions of dollars and limitless resources will never be able to match, because Adywan and the people contributing on these boards have one thing they don't - passion.

Wow, Serji-X, did you actually work on Hyperdrive?! :o I love[d] that show!

Yeah, I was on Hyperdrive for both seasons and co-designed and then built the main ship the HMS Camden Lock and a lot of the guest ships, they can all be seen on my blogs, my regular blog has more background about the work than my purely art blog !!

I daren't share the specs of my old PC as it dates back to around 2001, but for a new one I'm looking into something with 8GB and 1TB of Hard Drive space, looking to spend around £800-900 !!!!
