From me? No, wasn't ageism. It is just that there used to be a bunch of us Tolkien fans who really enjoyed his writing, it was always kind of cool to run into someone else who was a Lord of the Rings fans. Well, I was obsessed with fantasy novels when I was younger so maybe I'll give them a go. I read the Hobbit and enjoyed that.

I guess you'll also find it strange that I saw the prequels first (but I prefer the OT), and the JJ's Trek was my first Trek movie. ;)
