I think I will play a new game on the forum.

I am going to place Janskeet on my ignore list. Then try and figure out what he said from everyone elses comments about it.

You know, I could at least see the red circle in the center (maybe not the green box).  You would think they would have SOME sort of head's up display...

Ehm nice but it looks like a videogame!

Didn't see anything mentioned about this, but I'd like to see marks left by Luke's lightsaber after cutting the hatch open underneath the AT-AT.

I agree at least some burnmarks that indicate that the saber actually cut it/explode it rather the hatch open from its own

Any chance we can see dagobah  as a part of the echo base? like a greenhouse? ;)

Interesting idea :)

If the rebels had this sort of kit, they might actually have won the battle! :P

Were on earth did you get that lando picture. I have looked for that one for years. I was going to make a poster based off of the japanese one. I see you either used a different vader or tweaked him so he wasnt just a helmet nice job. Over all it is a pretty image. A high resolution bigger version would be cool. Overall I like it. You seem to have an ability to find better pictures than myself. I am going to rate this 5/5 simply because it dominates the 2004 and 2006 dvd covers (they should have at least done an image like this with their resources). You should think about doing the whole saga with covers like this then make them dvd covers. I would print them out.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

now this is something that i did think long and hard about and i think they got it right just as it is. I don't see the bombs as being destructive at all. Why, if they want to capture the falcon, would they use destructive weapons that would possibly cause all sorts of internal damage to the inside of the asteroid and possibly destroy the falcon in the process. I believe that they are just very low yield bombs, maybe just flash bombs,  that are only meant to draw the falcon out. more of an audible attack.

I was thinking maybe add some LFE to the explosions?  Something to make them more menacing.  That might help, unless you want to convey the distance the shots are in space by keeping it quiet.

Maybe an idea of sound like When jango fell throws seismic charges to obi kenobi.

The exposion first then the sound.

VideoCopilot have some good crater creating tutorials if you interested.

I was going to mention the "siesmic charges" if only to avoid all appearances to it.  Just a bit of rumble in the subwoofer is all I need. ;-)

The good is to show a more clear explanation of where the bombs came out.

Make the bombs more visible.

The good is that there is a second that hte rocks are clean from Ties and bombs so ady can clean the garmbage mattes and enhance the exposions.

The idea of some debris is good tho.

Re: Janskeet's freezing chamber posts.

It's possible that the Executor might have something like a freezing chamber (it's a big ship and the process may come in handy) but it adds layers of unnecessary plot complications to wade through.

Does the duel between Luke and Vader take place on the Executor?

If so how does Luke escape?

How do any of them escape?

Our heroes only escaped the Death Star because Vader wanted them to and he really wants to capture Luke (the whole film has been about this).

Also the Executor is at least as big if not bigger than Cloud City so the mock up is really out.

Are we still bothering with the executor idea?..

Anyways i ve made a gif to show how the scene can be more interesting.

Imagine it slower and with ties. Ady can do it better than me ;)

I also think a focal distance game with the camera focus on ties and blur the close rocks.

Plus i could have add more layer rocks to give more depth, but just to get the idea

Also the painting over the rocks seem to be a bit wrong in some places. Like here f.e.

The light is reflected to the wrong rocks

But don't worry I looked it up! Man, your British people have some weird terms. I still don't understand what that means, even after reading a whole page on it. :S

Can't the bombs send out a few light waves to make it look like radar trasmitters of sorts? A reason to them not finding the falcon could be because they're inside a worm.

I have already done that, myself.  Unfortunately it's not too hard to figure out what he says.

Since I've hit ignore, he's apparently tried to bribe Ady into a credit for his wonderful suggestions, and then promptly suggested moving the carbon freezing chamber location to the Executor.

Now if everyone else will just hit ignore, or just not comment, this game gets much more rewarding.

Looks beautiful as-is.

However, the one (and only) thing I might change is remove the ships in the upper right corner. To me it looks like Vader is looking at them, as if he's annoyed that these tiny ships keep buzzing around in his face :)

Yeah, maybe if you move the SD to the other side behind Vader, leave the TIE and Falcon as is.

My outlook on life - we’re all on the Hindenburg anyway…no point fighting over the window seat.

Where are you Asteroid-Man?  "Grasping at straws" is widely used in Canada and the USA as well.

I like that idea... much more plausible an explanation than carpet bombing an entire asteroid with low yield explosives.  By light waves, were you thinking of something like this?

What would that look like when it hits the ground?  (Assuming we'd see anything at all).

I don't think so, looks too distracting, sorta like the prequels. BUT, maybe have a HUD in one of those little circles? I think it would go nice in the blue one, but who knows

I agree. A smaller version in one of the displays consols would work better.

'fraid not.  Actually I wasn't sure how it worked, I had never ignored anyone before.  I certainly don't mind many of the ideas or suggestions presented on this thread, even off the wall ones, or any attempt at mock-ups, etc, even when I do not agree with them personally.  It's Ady's job to choose which ideas are good or bad, or fit within the vision that is ESB-R.  Throw those ideas out and see what sticks.  But you do have the responsibility to think those ideas through first.  Obviously early on there were plenty of ideas and mistakes to fix, but now it has been so thoroughly dissected that most ideas now discussed are minor tweaks, matte lines, minor effects, and so on while we wait for Ady to build his models.

Janskreet came in late (not a crime) skipped over hundreds of pages of posts and seemingly started throwing out random stuff previously covered.  (Again. not a crime but certainly lazy)  Janskreet has desperately been trying anything ever since, and early on I considered it trolling, and I wasn't alone.  That obviously is not the case, but I felt it necessary for my own sanity, to make the leap, break my streak, and for once hit the ignore button.

I'm certain I am not alone, and someone out there probably ignores me, as well.  Heck, this post alone might earn me one or two.

And now back to our regular scheduled programming.
