If Lucas Made an Indiana Jones V or VI would anyone here see them ?

Comments, thoughts anyone?

Should he and Spielberg make them?

Whether you loved Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, or thought it left a lot to be desired.

Should he create and have Spielberg Direct  a Mutt Jones series trilogy?  Lol just had to ask.

Personally i think IV was the last one and Lucas is just having delusions of grandeur like when he was going to make twelve or nine star wars episodes.

Spielberg Taking a year off in between Indy IV and his next film while producing other peoples films.  His schedule is solidly booked to at least what 2012-2013.  This even after dropping Jurassic Park IV.

He has gone on to produce way more movies than Lucas ever has.  I think its possible he had his hand in more hit films than Lucas as well.

George never had a wife around like Spielberg did while he was working however. He decided to take that 16 year directing break while remaining a producer.  Unlike Spielberg, Lucas was a single father of 3.

I think Kate Capshaw as a mom and wife deserves more credit than she gets like most women behind strong and powerful men.  She deserves a bit of credit for balancing Steven out allowing him to continue doing what he loves to do.  Though she was annoying in the Temple of Doom.

Lucas and Spielberg have different talents, strength and weaknesses when it comes to making movies.

Lucas will be busy with the live action tv series and the continuing clone wars cartoon series.

How about an animated 3D Indiana Jones.  Though that would be tough without a Ford sound alike.

I like all four films and would certainly be open to a fifth.  That said, I can't imagine it will happen.  It took forever for all three guys to get on the same page for Kingdom - and it does take all three.  Which, by the way, I think is a very positive thing.

They keep each other in check. With George, Kingdom was a sci-fi film.  With Spielberg, it was a comedy.  Together, with Ford thrown in as the voice of reason, it became the fourth Indiana Jones film, with the same balance of heavy & light that the previous three had - particularly the second two films.

Now, if the fifth is a Mutt-centric film, I'm not as interested.  I'd go see it, but it's the character & adventures of Indiana Jones that interest me.  With the hat-grab scene at the end of Kingdom, I get the impression their thinking is a fifth Indiana Jones film as opposed to a Mutt Jones film.

She was indeed.  However - silk pajamas, barefoot, and hair down sure do take the sting out.

I wouldn't even consider messing with it.

We know Lucas, he'll make fifty more Indiana Jones films, even without Indiana Jones. He's already made 26 Indiana Jones films, if you count the Young Indiana Jones series.

I dunno ... we've already got the perfect "Raiders" and then the trilogy of corny movies with Indiana Jones in the title ... maybe it's best to just leave it at that.

I'd watch them if it starred Harrison as Indiana. I'll admit, I'm more of a fan of Indiana Jones compared to Star Wars considering the LucasFilm Ltd. series. So yes I'm biased.

Since I have yet to see part IV, I guess not.

No.  Absolutely not.  No way.  I think Lucas needs to move on to his small independent movies that he keeps telling everyone he wants to do.  As long as he keeps sticking his nose into these old franchises, he's going to continue to ruin them.  I am not a fan of the Clone Wars cartoon and I will probably not watch the live action series.

Move on George!

Anchorhead pretty much has it for me. I enjoyed Indy 4 (not as much as the first three mind you) and probably would see it if Harrison ford is still the star. I was thankful when I heard that Mutt won't take over the franchise, I would not see a film like that. Now I might possibly see V (assuming that it does happen of course, maybe or maybe not), but that would be as far as I'd be willing to go, and I completely doubt there would be a sixth one. A 3D animated Indy? Forget it.

They should have stopped after the original. Raiders is great, but it is not the type of movie that needs sequels, as all of them are just retreads. SW is the type of movie, where there is more story there to expand on, before and after, and you can have sequels/prequels, because of the scope. Raiders is one of my favorites movies of all-time, the rest....ehhhh.

This is exactly how I feel in regards to the entire "Indy" series.  Which is why I don't mind KOTCS - it's just as good/bad as the first two sequels IMO.

Yeah but how cool would have Indy IV have been if Spielberg did it completely old school like he was originally going to do, and drop the alien subplot and come up with a better mcguffin.

There are things i like about part IV Crystal Skulls.  The things i like are things other people hated like having Marion return.  Indy having a son the wedding scene at the end.

The things i hated were the Mayan Temple turning into an Alien ship.  Interdemensional beings, "the space between the spaces".  Indy in the nuked fridge.  Gophers/Prairie dogs whatever.  The monkeys helping Mutt attack the Russians.  Kaminsky cinematography not up to douglas slocombe level of being great.

Fake cgi sets instead of shooting on location in the jungle or whatever.   The jeep that doubled as a boat and falls down three waterfalls. The Retard OX too much like Jar Jar comic relief type useless character. The triple agent friend of indy's with the bad accent i wanted Indy to just shoot.

The ripoffs of ripoffs like the mummy, national treasure and x-files and stargate.

I did enjoy the classic rock and roll tunes being thrown in there and the references tro American Graffiti like the drag race at the beginning.

Some reviewer called the movie a compliation of George Lucas and Steven Spielbergs greatest hits, lol.

Okay i get it the Aliens are a reference to E.T. and Close Encounters.  The Drag race and diner are straight out of American Graffiti.

Not me.  I should have learned my lesson with the prequels, but no, I still went to see Indy 4... the lesson has now been well and truly learnt.

I had no intention of even seeing IJATKOTCS, on these very boards myself and a few others were talking about how much it would suck. Then somebody made an inspiring post about giving it a chance (I think it was The Cassidy, but I don't really remember), and I decided they were right and I was going to give it a chance. Then the title of the film was released... then the reviews came along... and I began to care less and less about seeing it.

Nobody could convince me to see a new Indiana Jones movie, just as nobody could convince me to see a new Star Wars movie (animated or live action). I am completely done with both of them. I will continue to enjoy the originals, but I refuse to watch either of these poor dead horses take any more lashings.

This thread would make a great poll...

Me? Considering that I'm still "Indy4-free"? Of course not. Just as I haven't seen the whole "Young Indiana Jones" series. And I do LOVE the original IJ Trilogy, it's part of me just like SW. It was probably one of the things that triggered my "1930s-mania".

I simply realized recently that the moviemaking style changed with time. Old creators of the originals changed too: they've got bored, old, burned-out... too rich as well. So there's no chance for "more of the good old stuff". And I don't want to watch travesties even for free. A "National Treasure"/"Tomb Raider"-like flick with Ford in it DOESN'T make Indiana Jones movie.

I saw the original theatrical release of the Old Trilogy on the big screen and I'm proud of it...
How did I accomplish that (considering my age) is my secret...

I'd see new ones IF the filmmakers deliberately made the movies old school.  They would need to spend more effort making the plot makes sense than choreographing a fight sequence and the story-telling needs to get more attention than it has in a long time.

Also, Speilberg needs to grow a pair.  If George ever comes up with another alien idea, Steven needs to stop it dead in it's tracks.

Ironic, since there's stories about Lucas having to reign Spielberg in on "Raiders"

GL: "OK, Steven, you said you were just going to kill 'a couple of Germans in this scene."

SS: "Nazis.  I'm killing Nazis.  I like Germans."

GL: "Fine.  How many is 'a couple'?"

SS: "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6....10 guys.  That's 'a couple'."

GL: "That's a dozen!"

SS: "George, I'm making a really big movie here."

GL: "Yes, I realize that, Steven, but there's a difference between a simple murder and a cult massacre!"

The funny thing is Lucas let people down four times and they still went to see the clone wars movie in theaters.

I know of people who watched all five dissapointments and will still give Lucas more chances.

Because the clone wars cartoon is not a complete pile of shit although it is cringeworthy and mediocre people see it as better than the prequels and will wait for that live action show.

I sort of liked about half of season 1 of clone wars but hated the season ending with that new over the top bounty hunter.  He's like the bad of over doing boba fett all over again.  Except this dude even has a bad accent.  I know its a kids series.  To me personally i would prefer a more adult show mini series or anthology set during misc.  time periods in the gffa.  That would be at least pg 13 level violence and sexual innuendo I know that would go against george's beliefs , theres no killing or sex allowed in star wars.  He pushed things as far as he would go in the prequels.  In the novels things are more implied still those are meant for an older audience usually than the movies.  Other than say sith which was pg 13.

Would'nt it be great if some star wars fan created a new space fantasy/ sci fi story that was like star wars except made for adults, without the violience being overly gory or the sex going into the territory of making it a porno, lol.  Like star wars but new and fresh and without all the bad cliches that the prequels played up to the nth degree.

They do say imitation is the most sincere form of flattery.  I disagree at least as far as the prequels of star wars and indiana jones IV are concerned  they are imitations, but make a mockery out of the original films.

Are those actual real quotes? Did Spielberg actually get overenthusiastic about killing off Nazis?
