If you look closely, even to Ady's R, version when luke says the javas to get away, see the dino in the back. In one part it pop ups of the ground because of bad tracking ;)

Too bad you weren't around back then to let him know before he was finished. Haha. You just know that's the type of thing he'd get rid of.

And Ruin the fun and the oportunity to let some other editor do it? Not a change!

Besides back then i was only watching the progress, I wasnt ready to contribute :)

-Angel

Now the whole movie is ruined for me because you "weren't ready to contribute"! Darn you Angel!!!

One change I didn't get was removing the Ronto from the tail end of "Not the droids you're looking for." exchange scene. All the dialogue was done with, & it it was perfect the way the Stormtrooper stepped back to reveal the Ronto coming around the corner of the buildings. I understand why the probe droid was removed from the background during the exchange though.

If nothing else, we were beaten over the head with Rontos in the SE. There were 4 DIFFERENT Rontos wandering around Mos Eisley:

1. The one the Jawas are riding

2. The one that walks in front of the Landspeeder and sandtroopers

3. The one that walks behind the Landspeeder (the one Sevb32 was talking about)

4. The one that the Landspeeder passes as it heads to the Cantina. It's later seen in the background as they get out of the Landspeeder.

(Truth be told, there are 2 more in the background in a long shot)

Ady removes all of these except for #4. We really only need to see one of these. That was just overkill on Lucasfilm's part.

You know of the rebellion against the Empire?

It was like Jurassic Park exploded all over Star Wars.

Because Sevb32 if I wanted to see Ronto ass, I'd look in the mirror.....myself along with MILLIONS of others, didn't want to see the tail end of a Ronto when we were trying to watch our favorite movie of all time....

It was actually facing the camera, in the background for a about 3 secs. No ass shown at all.

Its in the foreground, not the background.

This is what Sevb is talking about. Either Ady didn't like it, or I suspect he lacked the elements to add it behind the aforementioned Ronto Butt since all those elements had to come from a pre-SE source, so he had to delete it here.

Yes this was the one I was talking about, it's at the end of the scene, the dialogue is over with, so it doesn't distract from it. The trooper on the left backs up revealing it, almost as if it was always meant to be there, seeing it gone, I miss it now. But overall that's pretty much the only deletion that bothered me.

I don't really see it as overkill, to me it's kind of like saying all those horses in westerns were overkill. But like I said, just that one being deleted bothered me.

They could easily use Jurassic Park's CG to make these whatever alien dinos.

I've read those Rontos were modified Brontos from Jurassic Park. I understand you guys saying Ady used GOUT or another source for the scene in question, but he could have cut between those shots scenes to keep that last Ronto. But what's done is done.

I hated the Rontos and wish Ady could have removed all of them.  Same for the CGI Dewbacks, or at least the two "new" Stormtrooper-search shots.  Ugh.

Yeah, that's why they're called "Rontos" - it was an in-joke at ILM since they were really Brontos.  It caught on for some reason.

Will somebody post a frame of where Darth Vader's chestplate is backwards? I can't find it.

They did. As was stated already the rontos were made from the brachiousaurus model used in Jurassic Park. Same with the scurriers, they were made from the velociraptor model.

Yup I know that. I meant the quality and definition of the Renders at Jurassic park ;)

Ady fixed that :D

Its when Vader says to Ben : You should not have come back.

When they said that Darth Vader's chestplate was backwards, I thought they meant it was physically backwards. This must've been a mired image. Why would they make another Darth Vader chestplate that is backwards? I also wonder why the big button on the right is sometimes blue. Did they make more than one Darth Vader chestplate? How could they get the big green button wrong on some of them?

Logically Yes. They made several helmets so why not Chest plates.

And hell... Why on galaxy this button is blue? Its interesting enough.

But as the pic shows is not only the button but the belt lights. So maybe some shit(h) happens with the colors maybe...

Yeah, I noticed the belt lights are blue too in that shot too, but I thought, maybe that is just an optical illusion.

Look, when you're dealing with film production (and this is true for video as well), certain lighting setups, no matter what you do, are going to make colors look slightly off.  That's what color correction, or color grading, is for.  Every film goes through a color grading process before the master print or digital copy or whatever is made.  Here's how that works.

The director, cinematographer, and a technician (the actual title depends on if you're doing a digital intermediate, film answer print, or something else) all sit down and watch the film.  As they go through, they make adjustments to the color so each shot matches every other shot.  Then they go through again ... and again ... and again ... until the director and cinematographer are certain that the colors are right.  If there's a scene that's particularly troublesome, they'll go through it in more detail.

The problem here?  Colors of certain individual things (like the lights you mentioned) aren't paid attention to.  If the color of one shot looks like it matches the color of another, but the button's green in one and blue in another, who cares?  If fixing that means throwing the color of the rest of the shot off, why does it matter?  It's not distracting.  I've certainly never noticed this, and if I did I wouldn't give two shits about it.  Sure, nowadays you can isolate that part of the frame and fix it, but why so much work over a stupid fucking button?

The vast majority of people don't notice continuity errors like this in movies, and if something that small and insignificant hampers your enjoyment of the film that much ... I don't really know what to say.

The lightsabers, as large as they are and whatnot, were very noticeable when they changed from green to blue to purple from shot to shot.

The buttons on Vader's chestplate, however, I never noticed or really looked at that closely.

But for all we know, it could change color depending on Vader's feelings. That's how the Emperor really knows what he's up to.

Hmmm... the button is green again... "Are you sure your feelings on this matter are clear, Lord Vader?"

Darth Vader's Mood Chestplate.  I love it!

My theory was that it is actually not a button at all, but rather a supplement capsule that is inserted into the chest plate. In the morning he takes the green capsule and in the afternoon he takes a blue capsule.

this was discussed in this thread when i was working on this scene. the Ronto is not coming around the building at all. It is just stationary and appears from nowhere so stuck out like a sore thumb.

Hey I'm not making big ol' fuss, just merely commenting an opinion. It was a 3 second shot, not even enough to see if the Ronto was really moving or walking much anyway, as for it being out of nowhere, we didn't see that angle for a while before seeing it  then, so it could have been coming around the corner. You did what you did, I can live with it.
