Why is it so hard to accept that we honestly feel that the PT were BAD MOVIES? That's it! They weren't good. We didn't like them because they weren't good. You can disagree, that's fine, but three important things:

1) Don't lump us all in the same category. There are plenty here who don't mind the PT.

2) You don't need to turn EVERYTHING into a personal attack against you. Just because we dislike the PT doesn't mean we're bashing you because you like it.

3) It's not just the PT. ROTJ sucks, too.

And finally, here's the reason for the Star Trek comparisons:

The new Star Trek movie takes place before any of the other ones (minus the Enterprise series). Therefore, we can compare its success in telling a story before the others to the PT's success in doing something similar. The new Star Trek succeeded where the Star Wars prequels failed.

And we know that Star Trek and Star Wars are very different. I hate Star Trek fans that hate Star Wars just because it's not Star Trek, and vice versa. I love both.
