In either Rogue Squadron 2 or 3 (I think it's 2), there are several bonus missions, and a few of them involve playing as Darth Vader in an "alternate" Star Wars story line. I guess that's the closest we get for now.

Hmm, I never thought of the GC controller cords as any shorter than anything else I've used.  I'll have to check that out.

And, yeah, I loved Rogue Leader as well.

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

I have owned Rogue Leader for a while now, but I have yet to spend much time on it or beat it. That Darth Vader level sounds cool, but I suppose I am going to have to load up on metals to get it though.

The first Rogue Squadron game on PC and the N64 had a lot of really cool extras on it too. There was a hidden level where you got to control and AT-ST and a code to unlock a Naboo Fighter, and the game came out many months before The Phantom Menace. There was also an unlockable flying Buick.

Yeah, I used the Naboo fighter almost ubiquitously in that game. Homing torpedoes for the win! I'm just shy of getting all the golds in both the first two games, but it's been a while since I played either.

anyone with a ps3 looking forward to infamous?  it looks pretty dope to me

The PS3 is starting to get some good exclusive games, but Infamous isn't something that's really caught my interest.

One game I'm looking forward to right now is Batman: Arkham Asylum. I'm worried it won't be any good, but I keep holding out hope. You can't say they're not putting a good effort into it, what, with getting Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill to be Batman and the Joker.

You know, I think I might actually want to visit espn.com if it's like this!  I'd take pretty unicorns over sports news any day!

But... how exactly do you put the Konami code into a website?

So, I finally picked up a copy of Knights of the Old Republic, sat down to play it, and couldn't get into it at all. Does that make me a bad person?

Nah I always play it up to a certain point and quit. I like it but I can't find myself to complete it.

I played it up to the first save point. Saw the word "Saving" go across the scene, felt very grateful for that blessed word (last thing I want to do is restart and have to make my character all over again), and eagerly jumped up and turned off the system and decided to read a book instead.

At least get through Taris before you write it off. It gets better as it goes.

Anyone play X-Men Origins: Wolverine The Uncaged Edition yet?

Now this game is damn cool, lots of neat moves and full of non stop action.

As a general rule, I avoid movie tie-ins unless they're of a ridiculously high quality, like Escape From Butcher Bay. It saves me money at least. I wish more people would do it and send a message to the developers that if they want us to buy their movie tie-ins to make them good.

Unfortunately, it seems that enough people still buy them that making crappy movie tie-ins is still financially beneficial.

I really loved the Peter Jackson's King Kong game. That was a great game-movie tie in.

So did I,that was damn cool, and so is Wolverine.

I am with Chaltab, I typically can't stand movie tie-ins. I don't just dislike them on principal, I dislike them because they are typically extremely generic sub-par, quickly thrown together pieces of crap. If a movie tie-in is good, I'll have no problem giving it a go. But that is pretty rare.

I've actually wanted to play Wolverine's Revenge (starring mark Hamil as the voice of Wolverine) since it first came out. I remember it had fairly decent reviews, and running around as Wolverine clawing at people sounds like a lot of fun. Now that game is extremely dated, and I have still yet to play it.

Running around as Wolverine clawing people to death still sounds like a lot of fun though. I might check out Origins sometime.

For what it's worth, Origins is getting decent reviews. Worth a rental, perhaps.

It just discourages me that apparently over a million people bought that crappy Transformers movie tie-in game on PS2 alone.

I have finally gotten a chance to sit down and dedicate some time to Resident Evil 5. I am absolutely loving it. I am even feeling sad as I get closer and closer to the end.

One thing about it I feel is prety messed up, these stupid chainsaw guys have me dying and retrying again and again everytime I encounter them. They take so long to kill, and they are fast, I get caught on a corner, take a wrong turn, or reload at a bad time and I get decapitated instantly, and end of having to try again (this isn't a complaint, I love this sort of thing, because the reward of finally beating him is so much more rewarding). Same thing for the large wolf howling guys, not only do they creep me the hell out while I am playing in a dark room all by myself at 2 am, but they are tough to bring down.

So why is it that so far every boss has been painfully easy? On RE4 whenever a boss fight came up I'd almost dread it, I'd realize a boss battle was coming, and I'd brace myself for quite a battle, and IMHO RE4 always delivered on that. I just beat Irvin, and I really thought the guy was going to put up a fight, but I had him down in less than five minutes and without needing to use any health idems. I am sure the boss battles will get harder, but this is pretty lame for a little over halfway through the game. It is not that the difficulty over all is too much, I am finding the rest of it plenty challenging, just wish the bosses were tougher.

Yes some of the Bosses are pretty easy, but just wait, they get to be a real pain in the ASS!

just wait until you get a Magnum or better yet the Hand Cannon, the Chainsaw guys are a sinch then, and just wait until you get to them damn creatures that spit the gas at you and make you disoriented and then impale you,I HATED those more than anything,at least until I got the Hand Cannon LOL.

but did you notice that the Lickers are a HELL of alot tougher in this version than all the previous RE's?

Author

I am just finished level 4-2 at the moment, so I still haven't encountered the Lickers. I heard they were back in this game, and I can't wait to see them. Ah, I have had the Magnum for sometime now, I just never used it against the chainsaw guys, I should have though of that. I've been using the rifle to get in head shot after head shot on them, works great, but sometimes while looking through the scope they end up being closer to you than you realize and then... buzz... plop.

I remember when I got to the end of Resident Evil 4, I felt really disappointed that it was over, I guess I am in for the same with this in a few days time. :( I'll probably whip RE4 out and give it another play through after I finish this.

It is funny how you wait so long for a game to come out, and then it is finished in just a short amount of time.

Whoa! You weren't lying! This game is a pretty fun little button masher. I just played the demo, I wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. The M rating is great too. I am so used X-Men being a PG-13 sort of thing, it was kind of cool to see Wolverine with incredible amounts of blood dripping off his claws. Gives it a much darker and more realistic tone.

Realistic since it's a ficticious comic book character which is featured in a film? LOL okay.
