I can play it with Real Alternative. I have to drag/drop the "stream"-folder over the player, then it plays fine. But this folder must be copied on HDD first.  VLC cannot play this file correctly on my pc.

I'm back!  Sorry; I've had issues with trying to log in here... even after I had my password reset. :(

Okay, so I've been following Adywan's conversation with Kurtyboy.  I've tried Ady's suggested method of first converting the audio to 25000 using BeSweet and then converting it to 23976 using eac3to.  Unfortunately, a new problem has developed: silent audio gaps appear to have been removed.  This is most noticable right at the beginning of the film, when the 20th Century Fox fanfare plays, but then it immediately goes into the Star Wars theme (foregoing the silent pause/gap used for "A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...").  The silent pause/gap exists in the 25000 file created in BeSweet, but the gap is removed after the 23976 conversion using eac3to.  I tried running it twice (once using the eac3to GUI, and again just using the command prompt) but it produces the same issue.  I can't find any switches in the GUI or command prompt that instructs to remove silent gaps.  My log file is as follows:

eac3to v3.15
command line: eac3to "g:\star wars iv\main_track_25000.ac3" "g:\star wars iv\main_track_23976.ac3" -slowdown -640
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
AC3, 5.1 channels, 1:59:35, 640kbps, 48khz
Disabling DRC for Nero (E-)AC3 decoding...
Decoding with DirectShow (Nero Audio Decoder 2)...
DirectShow reports 5.1 channels, 24 bits, 48khz
Changing FPS from 25.000 to 23.976...
Encoding AC3 <640kbps> with libAften...
Creating file "g:\star wars iv\main_track_23976.ac3"...
eac3to processing took 23 minutes, 34 seconds.
Done.

Do you see any problems in the log?  Do I need to worry about using 'Nero Audio Decoder 2' to decode or using 'libAften' to encode?

Thanks,

Visor

First, thanks for these HD releases Adywan. The original Star Wars has never looked better (at home at least). I got ANH to run just fine on my PC, but I can't get it to recognize the dvd I burned of ESB. I burned the ISO a couple of times, and my software says it burned without error, but my computer never recognizes the disc. It just spins for a while and times out.

Anybody have a solution? Or a theory? I've tried this on two PCs with the same results. I suppose I could give a mac a try ...

Never mind. I got it to work by burning it on a mac. When in doubt ...

I think my favorite part of watching ANH was the alternate commentary. That was fantastic!! Are there alternate commentaries for the other movies? I'd love to hear them if they're available somewhere.

I just downloaded both IV and V, burned ep IV and I'm having some issues with it.  First off, I'm playing it on a Sony BDP350.  The picture is beautiful on the disc, but there's a "stuttering" issue.

I've processed more than 75 blu-ray's to AVCHD discs on DVD+R DL's and never had a problem playing back any of them.  Could it be the framerate of this disc perhaps?  I have a PS3 that I'll try it on later to see if I have the same problem.

Thanks,

Rick

IIRC Ady encoded one (both?) of them at true 24 fps instead of the standard video 23.976 fps - this might be causing your issue.

I don't know if this has been posted but I thought I'd pass in on-if anybody has had problems playing back the achhd versions of SW 4 & 5 on their bluray players here's the scoop. The iso images that can be downloaded  are actually bluray on dvd-not achvd. What I did was mount the iso image useing Daemon tools, then open it and go to the stream folder and open that to get to the m2ts stream-now using a tool called multiAVHCD you can make a fully avhcd compliant folder to burn to a dvd dl blank using imageburn (2.5 udf)-as an alternative you can edit the iso image. Most bluray players won't play bluray on dvd. I hope this helps.

Dunno if the info is accurate, but it's an easy fix to try.

Not sure if that's going to be the solution, but I'll give it a try.  Will try it tonight and post the results.  Thanks!

Go back a few pages in this thread and you'll see that others have had problems with EpIV on the S350. I was eventually able to fix it thanks to the input of some members here.

Just went back a couple of pages and found the following from Ady:

Download TSMuxer. Load the .m2ts file into it. untick the main video file and select demux to demux all the audio tracks. Once this is done retick the video file and remove all the other tracks (subs too i'm afraid). keep TSMuxer open.

Now you'll need Besweet to import the audio tracks into to convert them to 23.976fps. load each audio file into besweet individually and select ac3 as the output. Now for the 5.1 track you need to click on the "ac3 & ogg" tab. change the bitrate to 640 and click back on the besweet tab. now tick "change framerate" and input 24000 into the first box and 23976 into the second. now output your 5.1 audio track. now for the 2 other audio tracks do the same as above but change the bitrate to 192.

Now you have your new audio tracks import them all back into TSMuxer. Make sure that the 5.1 track is the first audio track in the list below the video file. Now click on the video stream to highlight it. Tick the "change fps" box and change the value to "24000/1001". This will just change the header in the video to play at 23.976fps and doesn't add or remove any frames. Now select "create bluray" as the output and create your folders. Once this is done open imgburn and import both the BDMV & Certificate folders and change the udf file system to 2.50 and burn. everything else should be done automatically by Imgburn.

Hope this helps

Will try it in the next day or two and see if it corrects the issue.  Thanks again!!

Rick

Cool.. will go back through the thread and see what I can find.  If you have a good fix for it, I'd love to hear it.  Thanks!!

I was attempting to follow Ady's recommendation on how to fix the problem with Ep IV, but may need a little assistance.  I've never used BeSweet before... just downloaded and installed it but I'm having a little trouble following the step-by-step guide of Ady's.  If someone could maybe post (or point me to) a screenshot/tutorial on how to fix this I'd be most greatful.  Looking forward to watching this disc!!

Thanks!

Edit: Nevermind, I did not realize the removal of "Yes" from the "Yes, I bet you have" line was actually from the Special Edition. I thought it was an audio problem. :)

I have all the commercial releases (DVD, VHS, LD) as well as Revisited and DM and I was hoping to check this out too but I don't have dual layer burning capability.  Would anyone be willing to PM me to help out?  I can reciprocate with blanks or something that's single layer.

Sorry but that excuse has run its course and is very weak....Its really hard to believe you can't afford a $30 burner.

Why is all but the epic 'Revisit' on rapid share?

Ady, do you have a comparison of the image scaled to HD size? I mean a full resolution HD screen Vs a standard sized DVD screen? The ones on the front page are all scaled evenly.

WOW ADY! That's Incredible! How the hell is that quality better like that? Also, are you using these HD versions for the ESB:R?

EDIT: Ady, which do you think is better, yours or WG's?
