Hi cjtc, Im downloading the one from Binaries.Starwars, but it seems to have a few missing parts on 4 of the rar's, any chance of uploading some Par2 files? once Ive done this I'll be looking to seed it on torrent (if someone can help me with that later hehe).
Cheers
Craig
Any chance of any PARS going up as its been a few days now with nothing...
All done now. Fixed most of the incompletes too :)
I just wanted to drop in and say thanks to everyone who PMed me with help grabbing the DVD9. You all rock! The "deleted scene" with the destruction of Alderaan was awesome! Thanks again all.

^ Yeah, just wanna say thanks to all those who made it possible to grab the PAL DVD9. Finally, ANH:R on a big ass TV screen is within my reach!
Have burned the disc, but am yet to pop it in the DVD player; the ISO worked perfectly fine on the comp (checked the special features, navigated around the menus, jumped to chapters in the film; no probs), so hopefully it'll do the trick.
Thanks again, seeders!

Keep poking around with the arrow keys in the Special Features sub-menus. There's two hidden Easter Eggs.

Sweet, I'll head home and do just that.

You know, as long as I've had the disc (got one from the man himself), I don't remember if I ever looked at the easter eggs. Thanks for the reminder. Might just do that now! :)
How many different versions of this are floating on the web? There are many differences from the ones I've seen on youtube. Which version is Adywan's most complete, final version?
The DVD-9, either PAL or NTSC, is the most complete and high quality version available.
There are also a dvd-5 version and an xvid.
The DVD-9 (NTSC or PAL). Which one you get depends on region (USA/Canada = NTSC, real world = PAL) and whether you prefer jittery pulldown (NTSC) or smooth 25fps (PAL).
Now i am asking this. I have dvds that hold 8.5 gb of info. Will the dvd 9 version fit. sorry i am a noob on that. i have the dvd 5 version but i want the dvd 9 version.
"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

Yes, the DVD9 version is designed to fit on a dual-layer (approx. 8.5GB) DVD.
I thought I asked this already, but I can't seem to find it on here. Perhaps it was in a dream... anyways, I need to download Revisited again. Last time I downloaded it was from fanedit.org. That is obviously gone now. I've been briefly searching for it on google and I found a few sites, but I can't find a site that has both the "purist version" and the DVD-9 version.
You put that post in the ROTJ Classic Edition thread, actually :-)
And check out Demonoid. Or Linktalk - they claim you need to have 20 forum posts to see the links, but all you really need to do is reply in the thread and the links will become visible.

Yeah, that's not a biased opinion.

Why do they have you download the movie in 100MB packets? I'm using Linktalk by the way. Demonoid won't let me register.

Well, being that I don't live in the real world, I have the NTSC version. But mine doesn't look jittery. It actually looks quite glorious.
What the hell, I just downloaded part 1, and when I try to play it with PowerDVD 8 it says: part.01.rar is not a valid Win32 application.
Do I have to download all the parts before it will play?
I guess you're used to it. The PAL speedup I'm used to probably jumps out as much at you as the NTSC jitters jump out at me.
Also, PAL is higher resolution. Neener neener.

You have to download all the parts and then extract them with a program (winrar, powerarchiver)
;)

I don't recall doing that before, but thanks.
What program do I use to open this file:
http://rapidshare.com/files/115856105/star.wars.revisited.DVD-9.NTSC.md5
Check if the rar file has the correct size and if its corrupted ;)

Well PAL region peeps diss NTSC for what resons i dont know. But damn dont judge how NTSC discs play in PAL dvd players of course its gonna be fucked up. NTSC never look gittery on my dvd player. If it dont bug me I dont care. Now that you guys say its gittery I will notice if it is gittery. LOL

So that's why they move so fast on that deleted scene with the Benny Hill music. Adywan forgot to convert it to NTSC. It must be PAL speedup :)

...NTSC discs don't play in PAL players. The jitter is a result of the format itself and applies equally to NTSC broadcasts as to DVDs. NTSC has a framerate of 60Hz; movies are made at 24fps. That works out to 2.5 video fields per film frame, so they show alternating frames for 2 and 3 fields each. PAL has a framerate of 50Hz, so they just speed the whole thing up to 25fps and show each frame for 2 fields. Some find the speed-up more distracting; others prefer it to the jitter (you notice it most in shots with steady motion or panning — the first shot of any Star Wars film is one of the easiest examples).
There's also the inevitable fact that PAL has a higher resolution — 576 lines as opposed to 486, or fewer in both cases for letterboxed pictures.
