i think the reborn project was the only ever way to make the secrets work well, alternatively watching the movies I, IV, II, V, III, VI also works well.

 I hope it IS possible to make a saga that DOES save the secrets for the OT. I think that is adywans plan (at least for now) so I personally am trying to think along those lines...that's what my small edits are attempting to do. :D

 this is just weird, BD...I have an almost completed version of the droid factory. I've gone in and stripped out most of the sound fx and started replacing them...that's the part that takes the longest...but it's coming along...I'll have to finish it up to show you.

Interesting but i wouldn't want to see Utapau with blue sky. I like the green ;)

I do like cutting the obvious CG...the geonosiens (however you spell their race name) are probably THE WORST LOOKING CG characters in the whole PT...worse than Dex!...well maybe... ;)   Sadly, I don't have a way to make them look better.

I've cut 3PO and R2 out of my edit (lot's of edits do this) and I tried to tie Anakin and Padme's cliffhangers together. I'm attempting to find "new" john williams music for this scene...right now I'm using ANH. It seems to work pretty well and give it that "feeling" of the OT. Oh! And they now enter the factory a little differently :D

Color correction? no...I don't have an eye for that stuff....I can tell you what looks *bad* but I can't tell you why...so I don't think I know enough ;)

It would be cool to set a certain time....not sure if I can meet a deadline...although I hope to have it finished really soon...next few days...

Yeah, what are you're thoughts on the AOTC outline? Do you have one written out? or in your head? There are so many things to think about...not only for this movie...but plots and characters that get setup for a ROTS edit.

Though Veeeery well done, professional level there. I prefer the original. It has a evilness to it. The new one is more neutral. also I dont think the solar sailer should have its colors messed with. Not wild about the flat grey with rust piping. I perferred it having more of a rust color.

I saw it like tantive IV that had only 2 colors :)

I see now that maybe the red will popup from BG.

And hell the framing in this shot needs a fix

AOTC outline should revolve around a certain tone, hopefully it should end on with a the same feeling we get in the early coruscant scenes in ROTS, ie moody and suspicious. i have been wondering about starting points for it, and what kind of pace and realism it should have too. alot of the subjects should be shifted around a bit perhaps

 

more pulpy, hard chissled men and their hysterical female companions....maybe not that sexist, but a bit more gunga din perhaps.

no mention of sith (they still exist, but this film should be darkside free)

romance should be less, well, unlikely. padme should perhaps be in love with anakin before he is with her, explaining why he is so wooden all the time. hopefully it will make the romance slowly grow throughout AOTC and ROTS, so it doesnt seem to be over as soon as it started.

alternative scoring and recolouring

added retro elements such as control panels, and as many people keep mentioning, less landing sequences!:P

more assassinations at the beginning culminating in the senate attack

new title, preferably something without 'of the' in the middle of it.

 

i love that scene with anakin on tatooine by SSWR using the alternative binary sunset score. perhaps 'silent scenes' to music like that could add more weight to them.

the film could loud and punchy until the execution scene, where the music stops for the first time, hopefully grabbing the viewers attention in a different manner, as if the only real moment in the film is that one.

...but I'm wondering: are you still thinking about it have that Star Wars "feel" to it? Becuase with all the editing it could feel like a different movie...but I'm voting for making it still feel like a star wars movie.

You're idea of padme falling for anakin first makes alot of sense (I love the way you edited that scene of them eating on the ship) as far as anakins performance goes...I'm just wondering out loud how would you really introduce anakins character at the beginning of the film? because anakins intro is him talking about padme...hmm

will you be posting your droid factory scene soon? I think I'll be ready by wednesday or thursday...

i must admit some of the ideas mentioned do seem to detract from the usual star wars formula, i would love to have a stab at a reborn style project like that though. star wars but not star wars. hmmmmm

maybe the opening scene with anakin can be editted or even cut completely. what if the film was lead from padme? i always thought it would be interesting to see padme leading the PT over anakin, so the relationship with vader would switch from mother to son in the OT.

That's kind of what I was doing with my AOTC Fan-O-Matic...Padme is the lead character...but then it shifts over to Obi and Anakin.
