Hello all,

I'm sure you see that I am new to this website. Focuspuller, as I stated earlier, you get my absolute patience and support.

Just wanted to say it's great being around other fan's (or are we family??) of Blade Runners music. I'm glad I found this site! I hope to be included to receiving one of Focuspuller's final piece when completed. If I can help in anyway please let me know.

Thanks!!!

Hi everyone.

I'm in a slightly better place since last we spoke (for now). I've also had a little time to work on the project so I will have something to report very soon.

I has also been toying with the idea of giving out some kind of "raw release" or "pre-release" as a way of getting this out faster. This would obviously be a kind of "work print" followed by a more polished final version down the road. I will let you know what I decide. Until then, stay tuned.

It's great to have you back, focuspuller! Glad to hear that you're pulling through.

I would welcome the notion of an early prototype of your final product, as I've been absolutely salivating in ancipation for this complete collection for a while now.

But whatever your decision, I'm glad that we'll all be able to soon hear all the hard work and care you've dedicated to this collection :)

Hey Focuspuller...glad to hear things are OK with you!

An early workprint release would be highly anticipated before your "final" release!!!  I would definitely look forward to it!! A great idea to "quench our thirsts"!!!!!!!!!   :-)

Thanks

focuspuller,

It's good to hear that you're doing a little better since your last post.  I hope this trend continues and you can begin to breathe a little easier.  Your idea of releasing a "workprint" sounds very interesting, but we'll understand if you decide to hold off until it's complete.

Forgive my ignorance of the track titles but is the piece of music playing during Zhora's Snaketease available?

We only get a quick blast of it in the film but I would like it for something else I'm working on.

It's mostly available on the "BR Outtakes" bootleg. PM me if you'd like for further details.

Yes it's going to be on the collection.

TheInfiniteIconZ. I would prefer that any details or discussions about BR bootlegs outside of the realm of this project be taken elsewhere. That includes incouraging PMs about it on this thread. Part of the point of this project is to do away with any and all such bootlegs (bieng sold or otherwise). If anyone wants to find these bootlegs by all means feel free, there are MANY sites to explore for that. But please don't bring it here.

Sorry to sound like a policeman. You understand where I'm coming from. And thank you for your support.

I'm sorry, I only meant to point BingoWings in the right direction with my PM, and I can most certainly empathize with your desire to rid the BR fan community of cheapened or derisive bootlegs.

All I'm going to say in this matter is that this particular boot was an exception to the "bad bootleg" stereotype, as it was extremely rare and could not be found on any sites, and my only intention was to help out a fellow score fan, but if you feel that I have slighted the integrity of your restoration, then my apologies.

I still hope that all goes well with your family and the upcoming project, and you know you have all of my best wishes and support. :)

I feel like I've just walked into the twilight zone. Here we are on a forum discussing what is in reality a bootleg collection and we critizice the previous bootlegs and say we want to do away with them. That is a bit hipocritical, don't ya think. Unless you are Vangelis himself, this is a bootleg project, the same (in all legal ways) as any other bootleg of the Blade Runner soundtrack. Don't play all high and mighty because you claim to be doing a restoration. All you are doing is taking bootlegs to another level by claiming it is a restoration. Some of your editing choices indicate a personal preference on your part that, unless you are in posession of the original master tapes (or copies thereof), you cannot justify some of you editing choices.

There are many bootlegs out there of blade runner, but some recent ones have been quiet stellar. I would much prefer the recent bootlegs by Sebastian, Vincente or GreyFedora than music that suffers from merging of tracks that shouldn't be. I don't know what sources these guys use, but they have tracks that are quiet clean and nice, particularly the music from Taffy's bar.

I'd recommend going to Yahoo and finding the Blade Runner Sondtrack group and request admission. They share some interesting music in flac and mp3 and they have better versions of the music from Taffy's bar than I have heard elsewhere.

You need to take this nonsense elsewhere. This thread (within the greater forum of discussing fan edits and restorations) is about this project, and this project in particular. You can think and feel what you like, discuss what you like, but if it doesn't relate to this project then take it elsewhere. I don't get what is so hard to understand. Any forum or fan related to Vangelis or Blade Runner is great, I've said that many times before. But you need to show an amount of respect to the purpose of this specific thread. If you can't do that, and what you want isn't here then look for it elsewhere. As to what I'm doing, I've explained it within reason. I don't "claim" anything beyond what I have already stated. As for my "editing choices", since I haven't released this yet you'll to wait before you can tell me you hate it, but don't worry, you'll get your chance.

You clearly have your opinions about what you like. That bieng the case, I don't understand your need for posting beyond bashing this project, which is all you seem to want to do given the tone of your other posts. If you want to stay and are interested in what I am trying to offer with this project then great. The fact that you are here, and are posting at all (dispite the nature) tells me that you are. Otherwise, I don't know what else to say beyond what I have already said.

Excellent response Focuspuller!! I am extremely grateful I found you (and all you other "family fans")! I get so anxious (in a good way) checking my email everyday to hear the latest from you! Question for you Focuspuller....how are you with pictures/images for the CD case and/or the CD's? Do you still need any possibilities from us?

Well ,  i only can say that this seems the most amazing BR  music project i've seen in all these years .  Thanks Focuspuller for your effort .

I quite understand that, but that was not the tone of your post. Your tone was putting down all other bootlegs and acting like yours is not another bootleg (even as close as you may get to the original). That's why I said I felt like I was in the twilight zone because the tone of your post was so contrary to the nature of your project. I am eagerly awaiting its release, but I do have reservations about some of the choices you have made. I'm sure they will be resolved one way or another when I hear your final product.

This is the comment that set me off:

"Part of the point of this project is to do away with any and all such bootlegs (bieng sold or otherwise)."

You should be more careful about making such comments. It has a very arrogant sounding tone and is inconsiderate of other people's hard work. You are not the only one who is trying to recreate Vangelis' full original score. I have great respect for all of you who can make such seemless edits from many sources.

That is very kind of you to say. I hope the end result lives up to your wishes.

I am actually on vacation right now so I am going to post more seriously in about a week or less. Until then I hope everyone is well. Stay tuned.

I'll say this once again, if you're interested in this project then great. If you're not then don't waste your time. Unless you like spenting time on things you don't like even if you haven't seen the end result yet.

In other words, blow me.

Wow!  We have our first .. well.. I don't know quite what to say about "yotsuya".  It's quite odd for someone to just pop up into a thread and start advertising other sites and putting down someone's project.. isn't that called "troll spamming?"

Anyway.

Hope your vacation is going well.

Looking forward to your updates focuspuller  :-)

Just poping up on a thread? I've been here for quite some time, drawn by my love of Vangelis and Blade Runner. Any comments I have made are in reaction to comments made by others that bear a striking resemblance to what I have to deal with at work. I once was a bit sluggish to say things, but in my current line of work I have come to call people to task for things that they say or post. Just because we are in awe of someone's audio editing talents does not mean I will ingore innapropriate comments.

"Troll Spamming" would be if I had come her for the specific purpose of arguing. I am here for the specific reason of hearing the final creation. I try to be as tactful as I can but I do not appreciate being ignored when I ask a simple why or how question and I will call someone for saying something that comes across as rude. In his reply, Focuspuller stated what he should have said the first time. My job would have been complete but now you seem to want to attack me personally. So be it.

ok.  I admit.  I did try and read as far back as I could on this before posting, but I couldn't see any other post by yourself.  I just thought it was someone who appeared here and just seemed to get offended and start advertising other sites.  If the post of this page was the result of a previous question which had a negative answer, then I now understand why it's got to this point.  I didn't want to seem like I was attacking you personally, but it seemed you were attacking focuspullers project, and as we are all pretty friendly here, you can understand why walking into an argument here is unusual to say the least!

Anyway.  Sorry for the trol spam comment.  I was basing it on what I read on this page and the fact your bio only reads 7 posts. (I don't normally start at the back and read on.. habit I'm afraid).  No hard feelings..

Let's move on :-)
