I agree it was probably overrated. I have heard some people proclaim it to be the greatest film of all time. But it all honesty, it was a pretty hilarious movie. In a world where your typical teen sex comedy (American Pie, Superbad, etc.) are considered the epitomy us humor, or movies like (Tropic Thunder, Observe and Report) are considered excellent comedies, it is nice to look back at a classic like Pulp Fiction and find something that does more than just pretend to be funny, but really is. Pulp Fiction even has the added plus of possibly getting you to think a little bit in process, if you chose to take the time to consider the characters. Interestingly, this is coming from a guy who doesn't care one bit for any of Tarantino's other work. It is also significant to note, that when that film came out, there was nothing out there quite like it. It was something new and fresh amongst hoards of the same-ol'-thing. Since you see films like AOTC and ROTS as great films, I am sure you can forgive others for thinking Pulp Fiction is something special.
