Earlier in the film Obiwan meets up with Bail and Yoda somewhere in space...why not just do that again? One solution I've come up with is that the droid tells them something like: "We need to land somewhere nearby to make a safe delivery." I don't know...what do you guys think?

Here is a possibility:
maybe Dagobah is Yoda's home and there is something there that gives him greater Force strength, which allows him to heal from his battle with Palpatine. You could also explain the landing as Yoda needs to use the Force to try and save a critically injured Padme (if not by Anakin then something added to said fan edit) and it is only through Yoda and the Force that the children are saved.

You can also make it that they are on the run, and Dagobah is out of the way enough to deal with Padme's medical attention and Yoda's as well.
