This would serve two purposes, now Yoda doesn't have to hide his escape pod in the swamp (he just walks down the ramp) and it explains why Luke finds the place so familiar (he was born there and not on some fancy asteroid base in the middle of nowhere):
Really cool! But if you can (if you or someone manages to make the scene) please do it similar to the Falcon approach to Yavin 4 (as in: we see it head to Dagobah, it flies over the shroud of fog and the following shot is it already landed above. Please, no more PT landing shots... <:( )
ok this NEEDS to happen.
Before Episode III came out I was really looking forward to seeing them land on Dagabah and even see luke and leia born there. The line Luke said when he was there about "something fimilar about this place" I always though ment he was born there. when I found out he and leia were born on as asteroid I was very mad at this. Please someone MAKE THIS CHANGE!!!!!!!!

Yes Bingowings! This is genious! Why has noone thought of this before?
So are we saying here that Padme gives birth here? If so, then where is this medical station? We could just say it's on the ship...? If so, why bother landing? Hmmm...this HAS to work! :D
Oh! ben_danger, I think the close up of the button pushing is a great start to making these movies FEEL like the OT. Yes, of course, it's Luke's hand, but I think you're suggesting we FILM hands pushing buttons and whatnot...right?
And I agree with everyone else that there's too much ship landing in the PT. Only when needed for story or establishing shots.

Great work Bingowings!
I agree with JediMasterFisher, this would be a great change to the prequels. I remember there being a lot of speculation around the time of Episodes 2 and 3 where Luke and Leia would be born. With Dagobah seeming so familiar to Luke, I too always asumed they were born on Dagobah.
Your mockup looks so good, it might actually be done. I never liked how random Polis Massa was anyway. One problem though, how are we going to get Obi-Wan, Padme and the droids from Padme's ship (which they use to leave Mustafar) to the Tantive 4?

Crap. You're right, SilverKey.
-Maybe you could start in the asteroid field...or maybe just space...OR on Dagobah:
-"Obiwan has made contact"
-new shot of the two ships coming together and then wipe to the next scene.
-OR new shot of Padme's ship meeting the Tantive ON dagobah?
Anyone else got ideas?

i would agree on having them meet on dagoba, far more simple, plus i can imagine a really nice matte of the blockade runner and naboo ship facing each other, its almost like a 'passing the torch shot'.
the tantive IV is far more interesting visally than the naboo craft in my eyes, so i would prefer to see it entering the clouds, but it may make more sense to be following the naboo craft and have the tantive IV there waiting.
something to add to the PT:R request list would be have the tantive IV changed to match the OT colours, but its not vital.

right!;)
You dont have to show that the ship is going to land in the dagobah.
Show it ender to the atmosphere like Bingo's mockups and then have a matte with maybe some elements. Besides Landing isnt nessesary becasause the action has to be quick with fast pacing.
In fact the scene can be similar to ROTJ when the rebels have jus landed to endor and we see the shuttle in the distance.
Also raining is a good mood (ESB like) so we can have some slight rain sound out of the windows and when padme dies some thunder sounded.

So, what did Luke mean by 'there's something familiar about this place?' :p
Ripplin said:So, what did Luke mean by 'there's something familiar about this place?' :p
I'm wondering the same thing.

Lucas would say that Luke is simply saying that Dagobah smells just like a Jawa turd.
ooooh, i like the rain and thunder ideas!
Yeah, cool idea with the rain.
Ripplin said:doubleofive said:Ripplin said:Very nice, Bingo. Some of your best yet, I think.
And hey, it's another ship landing scene! :p
...
That would be funny. I hope someone (Davnes?!) will actually do it.
Oh, and speaking of Davnes, if you haven't watched his video called "Full House Wars", you must! :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VMiGLKif8w4&feature=channel_page
The idea of Tentative IV landing on Dagobah, etc. sounds interesting.
I'm working on a little something, and I had better make it good, because I'm going up north for a week to see family.
Any-who, that 'Full House video was really fun :)

If you want Nice, go to France
Be nice this is my first step to a larger world:
A simple Blue de-coloration to ROTS to match more with the PT.
The video quality hides some blue lights that are still there...
I used Photoshop only.

EDIT: If you notice closely in AOTC in the chase scene when Obi says: Why took you so long, notice the side edges. It seems that when they applied the wiggle in the image the canvas is not proper scaled and you can see the black edges ;)
-Angel
Hmm... I dunno, I like the blue in that scene, I think. Either way is good, though. How do you use Photoshop in conjunction with video? I thought you'd do color changes within the video program. Of course, I barely know what I'm talking about.
Photoshop heals and fixes everything :) God bless Thomas Knoll :D

Whew boy!
Vaderios: I like the alterations, buuut:
This is a great example of what is so wrong about the entire PT: long, drawn out shots and cruddy, infantile dialogue (and what is with the goofy flip? Did Vader ever make an entrance like that?) that ultimately kills the drama of any scene or plot point. While JEDI may not be the best of examples in general movie terms, compare the Luke/ Vader/ Emperor scene while the rebel/ imperial battle was happening outside to this scene.
Is there any way to edit this not so much to match any OT flavor, but just to emphasize a HUGE BATTLE is happening outside that could destroy the ship they are in, much less they are about to fight a Sith Lord/ Rogue Jedi Master (hmm, 2 on 1 again... man, those Jedi weren't very honorable, were they? Also, why is it that the Jedi are the first to ignite their swords and attack?)?
Or just to put it simply: to get rid of (or dub) the boringly spoken dialogue as well as some of the actual lines ("fighting Sith Lords is our specialty!) and just... make it serious enough to TAKE seriously?

I don't post much here these days (for now) , but I follow this thread with much interested!
The Tantive on Dagobah needs to happen!
Keep up the great work.
i may have read this wrong, but did you do that colour correction in photoshop??

YES YES YES
I was doing a total WTF moment when I watched RotS for the first time, I think I even said "where the hell is Dagobah?" out loud
This NEEDS to happen, ADY if your reading this write this in blood on the nearest wall, LOL this is the one thing in RotS:R that absolutly must happen!!!
while the prequals were being made I always thought that Padme would die in the cave. & Certainly not in some random asteroid belt
Bingowings said: Do you want to see the project finished as a playable film or a flick book?
oooh, a cave death would be cool, but is ady actually going to kill her off?
i was wondering if he was going to turn her into a cat lady or just a really miserable woman who lives her last days in a rocking chair on alderaan.

I added some lightning and rain to the landing shots if you scroll back a bit (adds a bit of atmosphere to an otherwise dull mockup).

@Bingo: Where is the rain mockups?

ben_danger, cat lady....ROTFLMAO!!!!!

Oh just wait until the super duper special editions from Lucas.
