I don't want my screen name or real name used in any form and here's why.

If you took the clips that I posted on the internet and dumped them in your project it's going to look like shit.

Those clips weren't posted to be used in a final product,  they were very rough drafts at best.  I don't want everyone to see those clips and think they represent exactly what ID and I were trying to do.  They most certainly do not!

If I would have had any idea that someone would take those clips and use them in their present form in a project I would never have posted them.  Especially the scene where Anakin and Obi-Wan chase Zam in the speeders. Good lord I hope you didn't use this scene. I completely scraped the soundtrack and rebuilt it from the ground up.  It was only about 80% finished,  the effects were not complete the levels were wrong, etc, etc.......

I'll echo what ID said and voice my dismay about this being completed in a week?

I highly doubt he used your scenes exactly - he probably made his own version(s) *based* on yours.  Regardless of how rough yours was, you don't want credit for someone using (and possibly improving on) your ideas?

I used the prologue, the first half of the chase, the love scene and the parents die scene. I played with them a bit and the quality is on par with the rest now. It doesn't look like shit though I can understand your concern. By the way guys It took me a week to finish the first draft after putting in the deleted scene. I started all the technical work months ago. Again, it's only the first draft, then Ripplin will go over it and I'll fix it again. TJ, I can't even put your username in "special thanks"?

Perhaps when I get the preview[s], I could upload it somewhere right away just for TJD and ID before general distribution? I mean, of all the people that should see it, it's them. I'd love to be able to watch it around the same time as them and maybe see what they think as well. :) What say ye, fellas?

I appreciate the offer, Ripplin, but I don't really think that's necessary.  It doesn't need our approval.  We'll see it when the rest of you see it.  We've got nothing personally invested in this.  Asteroid-Man has gone and done his thing, and he deserves full credit for it.  We wish Asteroid-Man well on this endeavor and are looking forward to seeing it turn out as good as we all hope it will be.

Ok. Thanks for the reply.

I'm hoping one word to describe it will be 'radical.' Or even 'slightly radical.' Haha. When Adywan said he plans to 'tear apart' the PT, I smiled. I have the official discs and ADM's extended versions if I want to see them as-is, but there's always room for other visions, especially one that does far more than just re-order the sequences and such.

TJ, are you ok with me thanking you in the credits like I plan on doing with all the other posters who gave me feedback, tech support and encouragement?

This is so freaking frustrating! This time I rendered it I got the right length but it's just a black screen!!!!! Can someone give me a complete outline of how I should save it?

That's very, very hard to do without knowing exactly what your workflow is.  Not to mention that if you were working in Avid, I could easily help you, but if you were using Vegas I wouldn't even know where to begin.  It depends on a lot of different variables.

The more we know about what codecs you used in the editing process, etc., the better we can help.

Oh, and something I just thought of - one thing that almost always happens to me in Avid if I'm using multiple video tracks, is that I forget to have them all active.  In Avid, if you have, say, V1 (video track 1) selected, but V4 isn't, then it will only render out V1, ignoring V2, V3, and V4.  I have to have the V4 monitor on for all of them to render.

Make sure everything is selected before you render, just in case.

Ok, so I watched it while taking down notes about mistakes and I came out with about a page and a half of them. There's two that I'm stuck on still. One is that there are lines (with a height of only one pixel) that show up once in a while where the pixels are incorrect. They're like streaks of pixels that show up once in a while.

Problem number two is that the video was slightly slowed down so the video's run-length is the same as in the project but it cuts out the end of the film because that time is already filled.

Help appreciated!!!

The video was stretched out again! I tried adding about a hour of black to the end of the film and it still ends with Luke about to blow up the deathstar. For some reason it drags out to end there no matter what and doesn't exceed 4GB ever. It always ends at 3.999GB HELP WOULD BE APRRECIATED!!!!!!!!

Yeah, it sounds like your drive is FAT32 - in order to change it, you need to reformat your hard drive, which means erasing everything.

no you don't have to do that. you can use a program like partition magic to change the formatting from FAT32 to NTFS without losing anything. All it does is change the file system so all your files aren't changed.

Aye, Partition Magic is a really handy little program. I highly recommend it. :)

Yeah it's FAT32. Is that why the film reads the right time but ends early? Also, is that why I can't skip through it because it was completely copied?

Huh.  That's cool.  I guess I did it the hard way last time.
