Long time lurker, first time posting......Question for anyone who knows: All the 1080p WMVHD releases by Wookie originated on  a German TV network and were broadcast in 1080p correct? Being that they look so amazing...where/how do you think this German TV channel acquired these versions? What was their source for these? I'd just like a little more info on how these look so amazing and aren't upscaled. If anyone could shed some light on these I would greatly appreciate it!!

I've seen comments from some rather knowledgeable people that the official 2006 Star Wars trilogy GOUT DVD's appear to have surprisingly accurate colors (no weird color alterations from the original appearance). So they could help a lot as a guide to color correction, setting proper original white points/white levels (I think that's what it's called), etc. in the HD broadcast of the 2004 versions. :)

The Star Wars trilogy. There can be only one.

Does anyone have a link for the Episode V Special Edition DVD9 1080p? I'd prefer the original Boba speaking one but I'm good with the new version.

PM pls, thanks in advance

Within weeks I should have a full color adjusted Bluray with the original Fett voice and isolated music score as a second audio track ready for posting. If anyone is looking for my old obsolete editions hold off for the new forthcoming editions. They are in an entirely different class. Assuming I don't have any more computer problems that is...

Will this new version also be in a regualr DVD form or just Blu-Ray? Cuz I don't have Blu-Ray

Full bluray format. DVD's dead my friends...

Not for me, I can't afford a Blu-Ray anyway, along with all the movies. O well if anyone has a torrent for the non-Blu-Ray version of episode V I'd love it

I bought a HDX-1000 and never looked back. Gave my 3 month old Panasonic Blu-ray to my parents....

I am happy with my HDX but if I were to it over again I'd buy a popcorn hour.

The newest popcorn hour is better than the HDX-1000..... both will stream 1080p and play just about any video file.

I love everybody. Lets all smoke some reefer and chill. Hug and kisses for everybody.

Hey WG,

Out of interest, what have you used for Authoring and Encoding the Blu-ray?

I've been tinkering with some things, but didn't even want to think about colour correcting as well!

Best of Luck

Don't anyone change their lives around yet. Once it gets posted to the groups it will be out there for months if not almost a year. I can't reliably predict when it will get done or to what extent I will work on the bluray end of it.

As much as I'm as keen as everyone to see the finished article, I know that I and everybody here truely appreciates your time and effort, so take your time....

But just to ask...when you say 'to what extent you will work on the bluray end of it', do you mean that you will simple upload a raw file to the groups and leave it to the end user to make a bluray file structure and burn to bluray if this is what they want...??

Bluray structure and multiple audios intact. Not sure about how animated the menus will be or the added features I have planned. I have too much I want to do and because of this I either will take forever to do it or settle for simplistic to get it out there. I actually have a second disk planned that I may just have to do at a latter date as a seperate project after the saga is finished. Originaly each movie was to be a 2 disk set with the feature on disk one and something on disk two that have never been done before. I'm afraid to mention what it might be, I don't want to take too long to do it just to have someone else run with it.

Wow - I hadn't fully appreciated that you were planning multiple audio; menus & additional features!! When you said it would be 'ultimate' you really meant it, didn't you!!!

I completely understand your wish to be discrete regarding the detail of the project and your 'something' on disk two...better to work quietly away on that, I'd have thought.

As much as I and I suspect others here are dying to see these blu-ray quality releases in all their glory as soon as possible, quality takes time and dedication. I guess that you have to strike a balance between having a release and maximising the features that you want to include. It's easy for me to say don't compromise and in an ideal world that would be the overriding consideration, but as you rightly say, it could possibly take you forever. Perhaps a second disk subsequent to the release of the actual movies might strike the right balance....and possibly maintain your sanity?!!

In any event, there is no doubt in my mind that it will be worth waiting for - your 12gb releases set the standard for Star Wars in HD....this will certainly surpass them.

Great news that your coming back to up the bar again. Hopefully these new releases will appear just after my exams finish, and I can really relax with some glorious HD star wars :p.

When you say Blu-Ray format, are we talking full 50gb (or thereabouts) m2ts h264 releases? Amazing. I'll end up mkv'ing them myself due to storage constraints, but regardless I really can't wait.

Keep up the good work! Be sure to post the NZB when they're done :p.

EDIT: I notice in the empire samples currently up on usenet, the AR is incorrect? Well, by that I mean its a 16:9 encode with black bars to make a 2.20:1 letterbox. I assume this will be fixed in the final release? No point encoding that extra res, waste of bandwidth surely? And it could be a pain for those with anamorphic projector setups.
