Is there any possibility that the "old" version of the music sync be reinstated in ESB:R? Because I found it bothering actually since the very first time I've watched the DVD :P
i won't be concentrating on the audio side of things until i have completed all the video work but i'll take a look at that shot.

yes, that matte painting needs to go
Bewy said:But won't the shot of the MF and Slave I fly-by be cut out if I remember(because it wasn't realistic at all)? In that case the original music could be restored as it originally was in the movie before the DVD (even in the SE VHS it was like the GOUT, the DVD screwed it all up).
no, it will be different though. the falcon will be a lot further away from Slave 1 and you may even see Slave 1 jump to lightspeed, but not sure about that yet.

Love that. funny enough i was watching airplane in HD the other night. just love those films

i'm sorry AxiaEuxine, but are you blind? the 2004 shot is all one colour, and it was never that way in the 1997 SE. another casualty of the botched colouring of the 2004 transfer.
I've completed that shot just after x-mas, so i'll post that as one of the screenshots so you can see my take on it.
teasers coming in about 5 mins.

and here they are. this weeks theme, Bespin.
Oooh ... me like ... comparisons, anyone?
Nice, can't believe(or wait) it's just three weeks until the big trailer! =D
Looks great, Ady! Need comparison pics!
Beautiful colour palette in those shots ady! Very vibrant.

Awesome, especially that last one. Huge improvement!

Thanks! And HD? How? Some channel like Sky broadcasting it in HD? Man, I'd love to see that somehow. I figured the latest DVD was the best we'd get.
Love the new shots, especially the last one. :)

It was originally shown here in the UK on Channel 4HD but i have it stored on my SKYHD box.
Ady, you are now the god of my universe those are AMAZING!!!! continuity lives again!
The person your searching for simply does not exist
Great job Ady. Thanx for the comparison shots. Brilliant work and much better that Lucas'.
Quick question for you ady... Leia's apartment: judging by the first pic, you've decided against changing the look of the exterior building in order to jive with the interior layout? Or have you altered the interior? Or... is this another one of those things that has never really bothered you?
BTW... where'd you get the buidings used in the Cloud City background in the landing platform shots? They look terrific.

Those are most impressive. Major improvements. Good work.

Nice! So, when it's on the box, what sort of format is it in? And can it be taken off and put on a computer, or disc or something? (I'm not getting at anything...just curious. But if you did feel like sharing it someday... Haha.)

i tried a few variations, making the window smaller, adding and apartment next to leias, amongst others others but nothing really worked out. the focus was always taken off leia so i just went for removing the upper part of the apartment roof to fix at least one continuity problem. i guess its one continuity error i'll just have to live with. there's another that i just can't fix either and that's a flipped shot of chewie and R2 as they run away from the stormtroopers on bespin. oh well. :)
As always a dramatic improvement.
Removing the roof cage makes all the sense in the world but (switching on rod for your back mode) these buildings still look rather fake:
They might be improved a little by borrowing some detail inspiration from modern Arabic buildings like these (Bespin architects really don't like windows much which is weird seeing how nice the view is) :
Perhaps add the Dubai skyline? It's getting wackier by the day! Heh. (some of the buildings are quite nice and interesting, though)

Too bad the shot proved to be so difficult... although I must confess, I don't think reducing Leia's visibility is necessarily a bad thing. I kinda like the idea of seeing an establishing shot of the building, with Leia only being noticed on a 2nd or 3rd viewing (I'm thinking something along the lines of the opening shot in Blade Runner, where the camera dollys in on the Tyrell building and only at the end do we realize we're seeing the window to the room in which Holden is standing).

At any rate, thanks for the explanation ady :)

Didn't someone say the scale of the cloud car was off when in crosses by Leia's window?
Very nice images! Can't wait for the trailer. TESB is going to be the greatest thing ever once this thing comes out.

no, i said that if the window was to be made smaller then the scale of the cloud car would be thrown off
Oh ok, makes sense. Did you remember to cover Mayhew's shoe soles? :)
^They did the same for Lou Ferrigno on "The Incredible Hulk." They were plain as day in any scene where he was running away from the camera.
