I don't think anyone expects all of us who signed the petition to boycott the DVDs. (Though it would be nice if they did.) In fact, there are several here who have said that they're looking forward to getting their hands on them. And I believe that you're right about there being many more who will buy the SE-only DVDs than those (like me) who will hold out for the real thing.
It's a free market. Consumers are free to buy inferior products if they wish.
....Hmm. Maybe we should try to get Ralph Nader in on this. "Star Wars Special Edition DVDs are unsafe at any speed!"
