Again this shot has full video motion clouds so you can't really get a sense of what the finished shot will be like until you see it in motion, plus the x-wing is missing
Love this, so beautiful! Hey Ady do you ever look at the scripts to see if there are any visual descriptions that were never fully implemented into the final movie that you could bring to life? I bring this up because I was looking for quotes about Cloud City and found this in the script:
EXTERIOR: BESPIN SURFACE -- MILLENNIUM FALCON
It is down on the gaseous planet. Huge billowing clouds
form a canyon as the ship banks around them, heading toward
the system's Cloud City.
Suddenly, two twin-pod cloud cars appear and move toward
the Falcon. The cloud cars draw up alongside the starship. After I read that I remembered that shot above and thought how perfectly that fit the description for the earlier scene.
i haven't got the Star Wars scripts unfortunately but i would be interesting to read the descriptions for the scenes.

Its unfortunate that you have have to scrap work youve already spent days modifying, but its great to see your so commited to giving the best visual experience you can give, and the fact your taking onboard our ideas in your final vision.
i'd rather work on something for weeks and scrap it because find a better way of doing it than work on a shot for weeks and add it into the move just because of the amount of time i spent on it even though it didn't look right

The grey clouds needs a kiss of blue. just 2% of color layer

its the same could city matte used i the one with the pod car ( i just changed the lighting on it) so the detail is already there, its just that its smaller this time around and the city is already on the top. I did try it with a bit more blue but i didn't like the look of it and i didn't feel it matched well with the previous shots. the slight yellow tint and lightness of the clouds works the best

Its the fact of each of them has black lines round them, they seem to be a different colour to the rest of the scene and their acting unfortunately due to the fact the scene was probably not recorded on set that their acting seems fake similar to PT lmao

Do they not just explain what Leia explains to the Rebel pilots a few moments later in the film? I, personally, wouldn't mind seeing that scene axed completely - it just seems to stick out from the rest of the movie at this point, by not adding anything to the plot, and showcasing some pretty poor performances.
I totally agree with that statement, the footage itself seems to be from another movie they just inserted, just feels unnatural there.
the whole background is being redone. but there is no way i could ever get rid of this scene. i would never forgive myself that i deleted the cameo by Ralph McQuarrie. :)

i noticed this problem just after i posted the clip and changed its movement on the bridge shot so it isn't static
