Everyone keeps talking about how great the acting is in the OT and sometimes I really try to believe thatstatement. Now, I re-watched this "Lando system" scene and IT'S TERRIBLE!!! The actors sound so flat! Like Tarkin when he says "You, my friend, are all that's left of their religion". Compare THAT to the perfectly delivered lines by Ewan McGregor in the PT, such as "Unfortunately, the war" or "Our missing planet, Kamino".

I always thought the acting was hit and miss throughout all the films, with some just being better than others. ESB just so happens to have the best performances, and coincidently it is not directed by George Lucas. Not every scene is perfect, but it is the most consistent I think.

Also, editing can create a performance of an actor... which means re-edits can re-create a performance and even improve a character. I think that is the greatest benefit of fan edits, even more than updating special effects and such. Which is why I'm really looking forward to ROTJ:R.
