My point is consistency.  Go one way or the other - touch-screens and holograms are fine as long as you don't go from that to a Boeing 737 cockpit in the same series.  It just doesn't make sense.  We need consistency between the two, and I think most people here prefer the look of the OT controls to the PT.  To paraphrase Ady himself, "The PT should be changed to match the OT, not the other way around."

Are we still arguing about the addition of holograms? If i remember correctly Adywan added some Holograms in ANH:R too, right? And of course it had nothing to do with 'making the OT more like the PT'. They were just appropriate in the scene. So guys, please drop the PT arguments in this case.

The consistency argument is a good one btw. Because we never see something like this (besides the holo chess) in the Falcon before. So yeah.  This is propably the only issue I can see.

But the point still remains: Holo tech is quite common place, and they propably wouldn't show it off "because its cool". They would only use it when they need it.

I'm not all against holograms, myself. But the Death Star plans were shown on a screen in ANH and ANH:R alike (although updated), so the way I see it, is that the OT has both holograms and displays, while leaning more toward displays, while the PT has both (as seen in TPM mostly) while leaning more toward holograms.

With that logic, I suppose it could go either way if someone decided to insert this idea into the Falcon GPS scene. I just prefer the idea of a display since the OT leans towards displays more, whether or not it feels outdated or not. And I still stand by my belief that a 2-3 second cutaway is less distracting than a hologram being shown throughout the entire scene.

And besides, the monitor screen is seen in every shot of the dashboard throughout the OT (though turned off). So it has to serve a purpose right? Having a hologram kinda makes that monitor seem like its there for nothing.
