I personnally think adding some news footage will ruin the ending even more. For a few seconds, it won't feel like an Indy movie anymore, and it will look weird. I also think it's kinda cliché, and a lot of movies have used this kind of stuff to illustrate evil. But who knows, maybe you will work it out.
