I can handle star backgrounds used more than once, but in the shot with the falcon dodging the Star Destroyers, the same exact star patterns are repeated in the same shot on the left and the right, that drives me nuts and I will always notice it. just the bottom right one needs changed.
what do you guys think of removing the line Obi-wan says to Luke about how Yoda intructed him.
I thought it could just end with their you will learn from yoda, the jedi master.
Just a thought.

I think its a good idea, but the line doesn't lend itself to cutting like that because he doesn't inflect on the phrase correctly for that meaning. You would also have to cut out the line "Was I any different when you taught me?"

Why? There's enough evidence Yoda gave Obi-Wan instruction in the prequels. The first line out of Kenobi's mouth in EPI is that "But Master Yoda said I should be mindful of the future." Yoda is shown training younglings in AOTC, in ROTS Yoda says "Master Kenobi, wait a moment.
In your solitude on Tatooine, training I have for you." Kenobi also mentions to Yoda in ESB "Was I any different when you taught me?"
I say keep the line, the prequels r the 1s where the lines should be changed. And to the starfield, idk how u could ever notice that, really. lol

I have no problem with starfields repeated in different shots, but I can see what Sevb32 is saying about this particular shot. Even if a couple of stars in each of the right groupings were painted out it would help break up the pattern and be less obvious.

I desperately need the Fine Molds Millennium Falcon before i can begin to build the hangar set because of getting the scale right. The same goes with the asteroid canyon scene. but with the only Fine Molds models i can find are on Ebay and are about £200, a quarter of that is just shipping to the Uk, its just a case of saving up as much as i can and preying there is still one available when i get the cash. Then there is the problem of building these huge sets but living in a 1 bedroom flat and still being able to live in this place with these huge sets in my front room. That's going to be fun. Its all going to have to be done one set at a time. Then there is the depressing thought that as soon as that one set is complete and filmed it will all have to be smashed up and disposed of so i can move onto the next one. I'm not looking forward to that.
I'm sure there's someone in the UK who would be willing to store the models for you when you're done. Or sell them to help recoup your money...
I totally agree! I would definately buy them if they were sold on ebay.
Isn't there anyone on the boards willing to lend Ady either a completed Fine Molds MF? or a Master Replicas MF?
I am a kite dancing in a hurricane …
I've suggested before that I'm sure plenty of UK based guys over at Starship Modeler would be more than happy to loan him their SW models but Ady wants to do everything himself.
My outlook on life - we’re all on the Hindenburg anyway…no point fighting over the window seat.

Again, the sentence would dangle and not sound right.

IMPS is a blast.
It's up on Youtube too if you don't want to download it.
oh my goodness, those visuals are soooo cool.
have you ever seen that fan film 'revelations'? the CG was great, but the acting and plot let it down a bit, but still amazing for a fan film. there is also a spagetti fan film that is really cool, but its name escapes me.:S
Well, I can't really think about anything to say, other than that it'd be a shame to have to destroy the models after you've finished with them, Ady, but unfortunately, that is the tragedy of film-making.

I'd leave the lines in question alone. They jive well enough with he PT as is......plus AdY has said he will be working to make the PT fit better with the OT anyway.

people sure have a lot of time on their hands. its amazing wat the internet provides tday huh?
i wasn't here during ANHR so i was wondering two things. ONE: why did ady cut out the jabba the hutt meeting with solo? and two, why did he change the way alderaan exploded. i don't care, just courious.
Well, ONE: because Jabba looks awful. :p Right, Ady? That scene is on the DVD-9 in 3-D, though.
Well TWO: Because the explotion looks more big, cool, decent :)

Were these just temporary starfields?
starfields is one thing that has never bothered me. the last thing you should be looking at in a space sequence is the stars. i never wanted to use generated starfields and instead wanted to use original starfields from the stare was movies . you will get repeated starfields because there is only so much area i can grab and combine to use to create a very hi res starfield that can be used for panning shots and fast movement. Its the same starfield i used for ANH:R and no one commented on that so i'm not too bothered by repeated star clusters. lol
Well now that you have your new HD camera, have you thought about going for real authenticity by recreating the stars just like they did for the films? I can't remember where I read/heard it but I remember one of the crew mentioning that all they did was punch holes into this black material (can't remember what it was specifically) with a pin and then backlit it. It would add a lot more authenticity to the stars as it would add a real twinkle to them when they're in motion. Think it would be worth a test to see how it looks? Imagine if it comes off real well and you could one-up the prequel effects crew with their digital starfields.
I know Adywan is not to keen on taking down his models. However, that is the way most films are done anyway. build the set.. shoot it.... take it down....build the next one ... repeat.
But Selling them on Ebay is a good idea. I know a lot of fan films finance themselves that way. Howver, I am not to sure how much call there is for a Hoth Hanger mockup....
Hey Adywan, is it cheaper to buy the fine molds MF in North America and then pay to have it shipped over? Is someone heading over to the UK soon who could transport it? I will be in London in September on my way to France. I am willing to drop it off for you.
Matticon.

More work that would just delay the release even more, he already has more than full plate with the model stuff he's doing. Like I said I don't mind repeated star patterns, but not on the right and left of the same frame. (The still frame on the bottom right.)

eBay isn't always the best option IMO. I've purchased multiple models throughout the years from this Hobby Link Japan, excellent service all around, as well as prices (£129). I fully recomend them so it's something you should really consider when the time comes to buying that marvelous Fine Molds MF, Ady:

They actually have al of FM models in stock right now, in case you also need the Slave 1, X-wing, TIE's, etc.

....And of course now people will go back to ANH:R to look for those repeated starfield clusters, lol. Well, at least now you've given people something to do while waiting for the Trailer. :D
Show me a shot in ANH:R that had the two of the same star patterns in the same frame. In the same frame is the problem.
