I see you point about that clip also being out of context, but it is still really dumb. At least the creators of the trailer for the Voyage home didn't feel the need to use Scotty's "There be whales" and "Hello computer" lines in the trailer. The Voyage Home was a pretty farcical and ridiculous movie to begin with. So was The Final Frontier. Row, Row, Row your boat in that film doesn't bother me too much, because the film as a whole is pretty worthless IMHO. I enjoy The Voyage Home actually, I find it amusing, but it is also one of first ST movies I remember seeing. Had I not been a kid the first times I watched it, and had I been a bigger ST fan by that time, I probably would have felt insulted by it.

"Hello computer" has got to be one of my favorite lines ever from any film (I'm exaggerating a bit). It is one of those things so deeply embedded in my brain that I quote it all the time without even thinking about it. I find myself saying it in a Scottish accent anytime my computer freezes or is going slowly.

Obviously the guy would have never seen an old computer with a mouse in his life, so it stands to reason he wouldn't have a clue how to use it. We are talking about technology that went obsolete a few hundred years before he was born. But that whole scene does come off as rather silly, expecially considering the fact that he finds his way around a qwerty keyboard, clocking in what looks like about 1,000 words per minute, just a few seconds later.
