I read in I think it was USA Today about these. I think the people doing the remastering work will take good care of these albums. In the article it has a quote from one of the main guys working on it and he said that the only thing they are using in processing the songs is a slight use of limiting to bring them up to a slightly higher volume because a lot of the tapes they worked with were noticeably too quiet. He said they are aware of how people see that kind of stuff on remasters but they were very careful about how doing it affects dynamics and they wanted to preserve the original dynamics of the sound.
So yeah...here's to hoping we get the definitive copies of these classics.
