ROTJ definitely needs a complete restructuring. There is a good movie in that mediocre jumble somewhere, but it can't be brought out by new effects and continuity polishes - it *needs* major story changes, in some ways more so than the prequels.

While I'm pretty sure Ady said there will be *no* purist version for Empire, I think it's a real possibility for Jedi.

And yeah, ESB:R will definitely not be done by Christmas. I'd say spring/summer 2010. May 21, 2010 would be really cool - 30 years to the day after its theatrical release.

From what I've seen there is no need for a purist version of Empire:R since there are no major story changes.  ROTJ on the other hand if he's gonna ax Lando I beg and plead for a purist version.

there will be no purist version of ROT:J ever. There was a reason why i did a purist version for ANH:R and that reason doesn't count for ROTJ:R. In fact i might run a competition sometime to see if anyone can figure out the real reason behind the purist edition. Some of the changes will be controversial but these changes need to happen. Jedi really needs that bitter sweet ending and an ending to wrap up the whole saga. it also needs to steer away from being a rehash of ANH. The idea was there from the beginning, as can be seen in Han's line, but that lead nowhere. I'm not going to budge on the ending, i'm afraid. in fact the only thing that will make me change my mind is if i can't pull it off convincingly

So my hope of ESB:R being done by Christmas 2009 are dashed?

I second that sevb32; Ady what happened to the Christmas 2009 deadline?

The Xmas 2009 deadline went out of the window the second i needed to make and film new model elements

Boards such as the the Replica Prop Forum http://www.therpf.com/ and the Replica Prop Board http://theukpropparty.yuku.com/ have guys making Studio Quality Miniatures of Star Wars models and Costumes etc... that would be perfect for some of the shots, there are even Stop Motion Replicas of the Taun Taun and the AT-ST getting built.

Although it would be great to have the guys from this forum on board the problem would be filming the models. I can't see, and i certainly wouldn't want to risk anyone lending me these models in order to film them. too many risks of damage in transit involved for me to take the risk
