How long is the, uh, process taking for most of you? I've been in the midst of it with a quite powerful computer and connection for over a day and a half, and I'm still only past halfway. Has anyone seen it yet?

Yea, me too. This is to be expected though as there is currently only one seeder (Fanfiltration). Just be patient. You should have it by tomorrow night.

Once downloaded what program should I use to make it so I can watch the movie? Can I watch it on the computer without making it a DVD if so how?

If you have DVD player sotware on your PC, you should just use that to open the files when downloaded to your drive.

I have verizon fios high speed fiber optic and Utorrent is still saying it could take up to a week.

But what do you expect from 1 seeder vs 56 leechers.

While downloading and being stuck at 57% i have already uploaded 36 gigs and have yet to finish, lol.

That's ok though i had a bit of a seeding ratio standing to make up for on demonoid and thanks to star trek and fanflitration its mission accomplished.

Despite this small community and a few people mentioning interest in the thread i am suprised just how many people want this, not surprised to fanfiltration having a following though.  After the excellent bond set he made and dune as well.

I hope someday he finished forgotten thunderball and fanfiltration of the apes.

After I saw the Blu-Ray of Thunderball I gave up on my project. The Planet of The Apes may get done after Twin Peaks.

I had to slow down my upload speed. I am sharing my internet with someone who works from home and has to use an IP phone. I can't hog too much of the bandwith during work hours.

No worries man.  Thanks for doing this project.

Doing what Paramount refuses to do, put out the special longer cut in good quality.

I know to honor the directors wishes only the directors cut was on dvd, but now that the theatrical is coming to blu ray the issue seems moot.

You figure for the 30th anniversary of the motion Picture they would spend the money to put out a 3 Disc Blu Ray of all three versions of the film and in 1080P fully restored.  They would have had to rehire Darren D. to redo the effects in 1080p for the directors cut.

How do they honor the anniversary?  With a bad new Film by JJ that pales in comparison to the motion picture, and a bare bones dvd release that is just a direct port over of the HD scan they for the HDTV version.

Have you seen JJ's film skyjedi2005?  The trailers look amazing and JJ doesn't do much wrong.  I just worry that he's a (gasp) Star Wars fan not a Trek fan.

I'll no doubt grab this Special Longer Version, but there's no getting around the fact that the movie is deeply flawed and really has about an hour of story stretched out.

Abrams may have made a better film, you don't know (and neither do I).

Thanks a lot for putting this together, but while the Trekkie in me is overjoyed and delighted and coudn't thank you more, the Bond fan in me is crying over the loss of your TB project.

If you guys are having a hard time getting this on torrent, welcome to the club... not to be sarcastic.  I'm on day 3 of doing this, but hopefully I'll get it done today as I'm on 74% now.  Once I get this burned to DVD-R, IM me and I'll see what I can do to get you to see this.

On a side note, since i saw the love towards the new movie, Star Trek: The Experience should be opening just intime for the new movie. Rumor is they are going to be gearing it towards the new movie more than the Star Trek universe as the Hilton one was. I should be going to Vegas right at that time so we will see... in regards to this, i can't wait to see. once you get it, seed it long and hard. I will!!

It would be nice if an Xvid version of this project would show up. I was never good at making such things myself.

Hey, alright! Torrent downloaded successfully, and it's a darn good looking disc!

And first impressions? I DO NOT MISS THE COMPUTER'S VOICE!

I finally got the whole thing too.  Had to leave the computer on for the past 3 days non-stop.  It's midnight here now, so I'll burn a disc tomorrow.

I'm totally stoked to see this! I'm at 72% and plan to seed this for a good long while once it's done. :-)

At about 9:25 PM my time, the downloading was finally complete, and hopefully I'll be looking at this tonight.  For those of you who do not want to go through the torment of downloading torrents of this, I need five people who are really interested in getting a disc of this work to IM me privately, and I'll tell you what to do from there.

Hopefully I will find a way of learning how to seed this, but if nothing else, Plan B...

On a personal level, it has been many, many years since I saw this longer version, so it will be a treat for ST fans, especially since it will add to my "Director's Edition" DVD.

I'm dl'ing it now. How can I set up my system so I am actually seeding and not just leeching?

Ok, I decided to stay up and burn a disc.

It plays on the computer but not on my stand alone player.  Tried two burns, one with Nero, one with Roxio.  Both times, I had to do it as a Data Disc, as neither had specific Video DVD options, at least not that I could find.

I was able to burn my disc using a Memorex DVD-R, and it played fine on my Sony Blu-Ray player...at least I took a sample of the disc, and there were no problems.
