You know, it seems like we've debated so intensely these pasts weeks that we've nearly exhausted every possible topic, lol. That may be why things have gone so off-topic these pasts days.

I tried to stay on topic with the Bespin-on-Falcon-monitor idea, but it didn't stick! But I have to agree... just about every topic is exhausted it seems!

Don't worry, once the new trailer comes out I'm sure there will a lot to talk about.

As for the data screen on the Falcon (though I don't think it's actually necessary) it could be a nice project which might be useful more for ROTJ:R during the Endor Battle but might work here too.

Unless we are going to alter the glow from the screen it would have to be mostly blue.

Perhaps the Nav Computer from TPM would be a better guide as it's onscreen longer and the two ships are closer to each other in size.

I'm stuck because I can't find good shots of the screens but here's the best I could under the circumstances (I'm sure other people could do a lot better) :

I don't mind things winding down a bit, actually. When the pace was at its most hectic, it seemed like I could go to the kitchen and make myself a sandwish and come back to an entire page of new posts! Interesting discussions all of them, but it was hard to keep up there for a while.

I'm pretty sure that I mentioned once before that in the Wampa's lair, when Luke grabs his sabre we can hear it turning on twice. Not sure if anyone else mentioned that.

Ladyferry - Yeah.. I read that what.. roughly after TPM came out? or maybe it was a year after, anyways that article pretty much confirmed for me why the first two films were really good.. *sigh*

I didn't notice this in the list on page 1, so I'll say it now: I was watching some ESB last night and one thing that might be fun to do is, after R2 fixes the hyperdrive and falls down the hole, make him fall faster/more smoothly?

As it is, when he first starts falling into the hole, it almost looks like he slows down for a second, like his feet are grasping something (or he's landing on a mat), then he falls out of sight. If he just rolled back and went straight down out of sight, I think that would be funny. :)

In a desperate attempt to come back on topic :D :

I may have mentioned it some time ago, but I've noticed quite some continuity error during the Cloud City escape; indeed, we see Chewie sitting in the cockpit, and 3PO is visible in the background. Yet, right after this short shot, we see R2 dragging his friend on the floor, and he was not visible in the previous shot, where we should have seen him at least arrive and attach wires to 3PO or something like that.

Interesting. It seems like Kurtz had a big influence on ANH and ESB. I have heard about this before, but it's always interesting to here his own words about it. I agree that Lucas needs more people to question him. We grow as people through working with others and argueing. No one man is flawless, and everyone needs another person to point out when something is bad. Lucas has too many yes-men now.

But did anyone else feel the interviewer kept asking too many pointed questions? Sometimes it felt like he just was intent on bashing Lucas beforehand and just wanted to get Kurtz to agree with him, rather than really letting Kurtz's opinions speak for themselves.

You were probably still typing your 'back on topic' post while my 'back on topic' post was already up. :) Yay for us! Haha.

Hey, where'd your screenshot go?! They're always helpful.

Here they are (don't you think we should see R2 in the first shot?):

i am

i guess it would be interesting to see r2 passing behind the cockpit perhaps, as it would intensify the rushing around and escape tension perhaps.

EDIT

oh. just checked the clip again

No, it's by itself. Ladyferry posts all these clips on her YouTube account (as shellatella), but they really should be downloaded here instead. YouTube makes them too dark, which hides some of the subtle changes, especially with this awesome Yoda scene.

That was very impressive! The only thing that bothered me was how brown Yoda looked...

He's indoors in soft yellow light in a brown room. Colors can be deceptive. A white wall in sunlight looks yellow, a dark blue shirt indoors or at night can look black. Yoda looks fine in that scene because it's natural for the hue of his skin to take on some of the brown of the interior space. If he was bright green in every setting (which is how he looks in the PT, no matter the lighting or tone of the scene) it would look unnatural.

Have you seen this amazing link regarding ROTJ in this Gary Kurtz interview?

http://io9.com/5196334/this-may-be-the-star-wars-movie-youre-looking-for

Full interview at:

At one point, he says "One of the websites I just pulled down yesterday was one that actually some guy went through and listed all of the written materials that's ever been written on Star Wars, all of the novels and put them in to a kind of time ark. Where they're placed on the stream around the movie. It's really interesting actually. Most of them are after the first three films. Some are way back, 30,000 years before."

Is that still around? If so, I'd love to see it. Anyone know where it is, and if it has been updated as new novels are released?
