Adywan doesn't hate the EU, he just isn't letting it constrain these edits. As well he shouldn't. In fact, GL didn't feel constrained by the EU when he wrote the prequels, leading to several cases of retcon.

Adywan has often said that EU is not in the scope of the things he will take into account
