Well It seems that these scenes are pointless because the effect we see from the outside is different. I mean it would be cool to see the other lasers charging and then the main fires as wee see the scene from inside.
And that laser is suppose to be huge! Compare it with the mass of the DS the humans near it it should be tiny.
Plus the perspective of the laser isn't correct with the tube.
