Is not that the whole point of Indy IV that the only treasure he found on his travels of "fortune and glory" worth having and holding on to Is Marion Ravenwood.

In the end the only thing that matters he discovers is love and family, and all these treasures and hollow pursuits were just distractions. I can imagine him Hanging up the hat and whip for good unless Marion goes on his next quest with him. Its more likely he will pass them on to mutt. Mutt will wear the jacket hat fedora and whip. Indy Fans don't want a Mutt Jones trilogy but clearly IV was the Last real indy picture.

Yeah film fans wanted Indy to remain an aventurous bachelor forever and be forever youthfull like james bond, to do that Lucas and Ford need to recast the role.

I could have understood a prequel Indy film starring Sean Patrick Flannery as Indiana Jones. How old is that actor now?

Do you think Instead of the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles if River Phoenix did not die it would have been a natural progression for them to make YOUNG INDY prequel films.
