I think Obi's disdain for guns is evident in the scene, and gives it a little humor. "How uncivilized."

UGH! I would still ditch the gun; I would rather Obi use his skill in the force to take down an enemy dependent on technology than have Obi ditch the Force to kill him in not just a boring fashion but in a way that negated the entire fight before it. As in: why didn't he just pack heat and do an Indiana Jones and shoot him to begin with? The really bad pun-ny one-liner just makes it worse (especially with the way Ewan says it).

In fact, I would be for getting rid of just about ALL the stupid one-liners, as in: Hayden glowering at Ewan is enough to show me he hates him as opposed to him actually having to SAY "I hate you!" It's as if half the script is needless exposition that tells us what we can already figure out.
