But Star Wars and the others are movies. First and foremost. As movies, they need to work for the audience before anything else. This applies to alien creatures speaking English, to spaceships making noise in outer space. If something isn't watchable, using "it is in a different universe" doesn't apply. It is a movie made for people to watch and enjoy it. It is not something that just exists and we are watching it in a telescope trying to understand why it works that way in that galaxy far far away.
People watched and enjoyed it in 1977, 1980 and 1983 and no one asked questions. It worked very well for the audience back then, and it still works just as well today. Sound in space and English-speaking aliens are all part of Lucas' masterpeice.
