My rotating room idea seems to have fallen off the map with all this talk of glowing faces and the like.

I had thought about something similar (regarding the rotating room) awhile back.  In theory it's ok, but it just strikes me as a very PTish thing to do.  Plus, in practice, it would be rather awkward and time consuming to have a room rotate just to enter through a particular door.  My money is on just redoing the matte to account for the interior structure of the place.

As for the issue with the sabers and their lighting, the only value I see in it is that it would create consistency between AOTC and the other films.  However, I can't imagine that would be an easy task for Ady to undertake.

Ady, have you thought about this issue (saber light in AOTC vs. the rest of the saga)?

Well my 2Cents in the saber issue is that Ady has already stated one of the goals with Revisted is to conform the PT to the OT not  the other way around, so every time someone brings up how something or other was done in Ep1-3 but not in 4-6 just keep that guideline in mind.

That clip works really well! i personally don't think the film needs it, but as an edit its great. Perhaps it would be good if someone was to make a condensed or alternative ESB.

Is Luke with his jacket off, then later on again a continuity error? or is there time for him to put the jacket on again in the actual film. (I don't have ESB to hand to check at the current moment!)

I left plenty of time for Luke to run over and slip on his jacket after he lifts his X-Wing, so...no, it's not a continuity error.

And like I said, it's not a suggesting or something Adywan has to add in.  It's just something that I wanted to share with all of you.

you see him put his jacket on afterwards. if you are short of a film, you can find them on youtube.

i don't want to get fire-balled if this has been mentioned already, but it would be interesting to see yodas eyes look around a bit more, i find them quite static. mainly just in his little speech where he is animated quite alot.

the yoda clip from ady from waay back is stunning, and i like the little clip from G E PREDATOR too, i agree with frank, it would be good in an alternative ESB adition, maybe like an infinities version.

(ps, i hope this doesn't linger, but if you have a beef with a member, PM him/her, it leaves a horrible taste on a thread otherwise, no offense intended to any party)

Thank you for the compliment.  I did make it as an alternate thing just for fun.  Sorta like, "What if Luke did believe and successfully lift his X-Wing from the swamp?  Does that mean that he would be powerful enough to defeat Vader before ROTJ?"  Just like the Infinity novels.  It's just a little something that I wanted to share.

In the prequels and CW Series we see R2 use his rockets which we didnt at all in the originals. Could R2 use his rockets to get into the X-Wing when Luke is on Dagobah when Luke leaves to help Leia and Han? As we saw on ANH, it seemed liked a big production to get the droids in the ship. But then in ESB there isnt anyway for him to get in.

I know this was breifly covered a few pages back but I though showing R2 boosting his way into the X-Wing and/or boosting his way out on Cloud City.

Well, even though we don't see him use those boosters, it doesn't necessarily mean that he didn't use them.  Also, it is possible to say that his boosters' fuel supply was on empty at the time of  the OT.

Just throwing some possible explanations out there.

I think the official EU (read: bullshit ass-covering) explanation is that the warranty on Artoo's jets had expired by the time of the OT, forcing his CPU to lock them off, or something stupid like that.

I think they should be removed from the PT, not added to the OT.  I thought they were ridiculous and, frankly, stupid.

I thought as a device it made sense, Artoo is an astrodroid, he has to work outside ships and the jets would come in handy for that and in that respect I don't mind it being introduced into the OT if and only if it made sense and for me it actually makes more sense to use it in that scene of ROTJ than either of the times it was used in the PT.

But in ESB it's never necessary.

You could argue that Artoo might have avoided falling to floor when Luke was destracted while lifting him with the Force but he was surprised and they seem to need to warm up before being used.

And the marsh gas problem is a much better get around for avoiding falling in the bog than Capt Antilles not keeping up on his warranty payments is in EU.

Decaying organic matter = methane and other flammable gasses... not to mention he could probably set the whole bog ablaze...

It wouldn't be Degobah anymore.. it would be Debo-blaze...

Is it not sad that in this time, we are more surprised by acts of love than acts of hate?

What about my suggestion that he may have used them in ESB, even though we didn't see it -- like to get up to Luke's X-Wing?  Or that his boosters had no fuel in them at the time?

I knew this wasnt accurate so I did a little research for you. I got this off of wikipedia (got love them). "The DK Star Wars Complete Visual Guide says that R2-D2 "eventually damaged his boosters," and the company that made them had been shut down by the Empire at that point. " Personally I love the fact that Lucasfilm tries to fix continuity flaws in this manner. This explanation makes perfect sense. Problem solved.

Frankly the entire Star Wars universe is very tight with continuity, especially when compared to other universes. You want a continuity flaw disaster area. Try being a trekkie. Oh man, that universe is a complete mess and I'm only talking about the stuff that they put on screen.

So as far as R2's thrusters are concerned they neither need to be removed from Episodes I-III or added to IV-VI.

My two cents...

to be honest id prefer the boosters not to even feature in the PT if it is possible to take them out. boosters would give rise to too many thoughts relating to 'why didnt he use them at this point'.

i'm going to maybe add a faint saber glow on lukes face only in a couple of closeups. the whole glow issue seems to have been overdone a bit in the PT but the bit where they swing the sabers around their heads in AOTC is going anyway so the other glows are so quick you hardly notice them anyway

R2's jets are also going in the PT so they won't be added in the OT. I hate all the bloody EU explanations for everything which is why all that crap is staying out of Revisited.

The rotating room is an interesting idea but just wouldn't work. i've been looking over that scene again and the scale of things is all messed up. the cloud car is too big when it reaches the building. either that or the lift on the side of the building is for midgets only. maybe it was the ugnaught only lift. lol. it does need a new matte. i was thinking about shrinking the window a bit but leia needs to be the focal point of that shot so that may not work. plus the window needs to be higher up on the building because the interior ceiling is too low down. Is it worth all the extra work to try and sort out the continuity mess though? i'm not so sure at the moment.

i won't be changing the way the xwing sets down on dagobah when yoda lifts it out the water. i've never had a problem with that scene.

Im satisfied with that. Thanx for that info. I assumed that after 20 years or so that things would break down on R2 but I didnt know why it couldnt be repaired even by Luke or the Rebels.
