Darth Piccolo said:can you try doing one in rotj when look goes ballistic and starts charging at vader

The sequence is too quick for a proper snapshot. any attempt may look lame. These efforts should be in motion. Someone has to try it with the tutorial i posted.

maybe i will try later.

Can i add that the sabers should emite light in the scene that vader search for luke?

Yes like when vader passes by all the floor supports his lightsaber should atleast have a dull shine on the metal even the floor or on vader even. Something to show these sabers are bright and not just photoshopped into the movie. I just wish their was a way to make the battle more like the esb one. Vader had the upper hand he should atleast be able to put up a better fight. ROTJ was a complete contradiction to the power of darth. Maybe he just acts all big and tough when palpatines far away in coruscant then he acts all calm and wimpy when hes around. Of course the emperor doesnt need vader anymore. He wants fresh young meat. so I could see it as vader just being loyal to his master.

A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. It would be really neat if the emperors tower Had A big skylight so he can view the battle better. We could even add lighting effects to it. it would be cool.

or maybe a few holographic projectors somewhere (maybe above those strange console things that are dotted around) viewing the carnage?

Author

I don't think Palpatine needs to view the carnage he can feel it through the Force (like Ben did with Alderaan only on a smaller scale).

The gunners and planners on both sides need to view the carnage because they are causing it but through the Force Palpatine is right in the centre of it unaided by technology.

one thing that always bugged me in jedi is that at the sarlac pit when luke is slicing the guys up, where the hell is the marks? it looks like he's missing them. also when he deflects the blaster fire back at the one guy on the barge, the laser hit above him and he acted like he was hit. that scene needs a lot of help.

That would be Force Dry Clean and Force Think You Are Hit to add to the infamous Force Kick...let's look at that GIF one more time (it always brings a smile) :

94 EXT. BUNKER

Han sneaks up behind the remaining Imperial scout, taps him on the shoulder and lets the scout chase him behind the bunker into the arms of the waiting Rebel strike team. Han returns to the front, and taps out a pattern on the bunker door's control panel.  Everyone stands out of sight, police-style, as the door opens.  Han and Leia peek inside. No sign of life. The group enters the bunker silently, leaving one lookout, disguised in the armor of a stripped Imperial Scout, behind.

95 INT. DEATH STAR MAIN DOCKING BAY

Vader's shuttle settles onto the docking bay of the Death Star. Luke and the Dark Lord emerge from the landing ramp with a small escort of stormtroopers, and walk rapidly across the cavern.

Using a mixture of animation and editing could this scene be rebuilt using the SE shuttle scene that Ady has taken out of ESB and elements from the rest of the film (with a little bit of CGI)?

I'm thinking along the lines of the redo of the Vulcan scene in Star Trek The Slow Motion Picture Director's Cut.

Sounds like You want to do Vader like in ROTJ Infinities With out the White Armor.  That is the only thing I hate about the Comic. To me Vader is Not Vader without the black Armor. In a story I'm doing, Vader did survive the Battle of Endor but He's no longer in the star Wars Galaxy He's in our Galaxy fighting against Evil Forces. Sort of like Batman in The Dark Knight. You really don't know which side he's on until he acts.  I like the idea of Vader surviving. The viewer doesn't need to see him after Luke takes him to the shuttle. He could be undergoing repairs on the Medical Frigate while the others are on Endor celebrating.

I said something almost exactly like that at TheForce.net recently. Darth Vader could be the dark vigilante of the Star Wars universe. He is redeemed, but he's working to atone for his evil deeds.

Quoting myself from several days ago on this thread:

There could be ways to have Vader survive. Edit out some dialogue alluding to his impending death, take out the scene with him leaning back, eyes closing, and going limp. Take out the appearance of his ghost, obviously.

It would make sense that he isn't at the Rebel's celebration. It could be left up to the viewer to decide what is going on behind the scenes: Vader undergoing repairs, possibly preparing to work as an avenger of sorts against the remaining Imperials peppered across the galaxy.

Something tells me Adywan won't be interested in this change, but it's worth discussing.

the scene that will take him forever to do is the battle of endor. there's so much u can do with it. i personally would like to see the corvets doing something. maybe even something similiar to episode III when the republic ship and general grevious's cruiser are bombing the heck out of each other. that would be cool lookin'. :)

i looked back on the scenes with the fight happening write outside the emperor's thrown room, and that's cool, but the problem is that the sheild generator is up during that time so the battle has to be a little farther away. it definitly should be closer though so we can see more then little specks moving and blinks.

White hat Vader??

As much as I like the Infinities range and it might make an interesting alternate take, I can't see it as a general improvement idea.

The Anakin we got was bad enough but to have him still under the mask after Jedi but acting all David Boreanaz?

How do you atone for hacking toddlers to bits with a laser sword (without at the very least dying a bit)?

I'd need a lot of convincing to see that idea with legs (or even workable stumps).

Me and Cibernite are divided in that respect.

I don't think the side he takes (Rebels or Imperials) should be ambiguous. Don't get me wrong, I love the hell out of morally dark gray characters, but I think it would be undermining any sort of redemption for Vader if applied in this case.

How do you atone for hacking up toddlers? Spend the remainder of your diseased life wholly devoted to defending the weak and helpless. Save several times more children than you murdered.

Does that truly atone for the actions? You could argue yes or no. But the point is, Vader would be deeply obsessed with correcting his past mistakes. As long as in his own mind his evil deeds are never truly atoned for, then the good he will do will end up greatly outweighing what he once did.

Part of the atonement is that he'll never forgive himself. A self-punishment comparable to a priest breaking out a whip and flagellating himself non-stop.

Here is a pic of the White Vader some of you are discussing. I uploaded it so you could all have a look-see. It is from Return of the Jedi Infinities. (A completely bad-ass what-if take on the individual OT movies) Personally I think the White Vader is beyond cool.

However, Vader should die at the end of Return of the Jedi. Having him survive is a little too Disney for me.

My two cents...

Bad Ass White Vader

Like that even comes close to making any sense whatsoever, especially when I describe what he would probably be doing after he survived.

White Vader is cool, but the black suit hid blood stains a lot better.

regarding vaders death, has anyone suggested that maybe vader fades away like we see yoda and obi wan do? (i would also like all the PT jedi to do the same, even though that isnt strictly EU, but it would be a cool thing to see)

I didnt mean a LITERAL Disney ending, I was just trying to convey a general idea.

Wow, I'm glad you mentioned that! I haven't read any EU stuff in roughly 10 years, but I think I'd like that. I always liked Marvel's "What If?" series and some of the other 'elseworlds' stuff (Stan Lee's DC series, too), so...yep!
