No, you can correct sets of pictures with batch files - however, it's better to do it in something like Combustion, because there can be differences between sets of frames, or from the beginning of the set to the end, which would mean some pictures would be over/under corrected, etc.

It really depends on what you are correcting.

Thats why I stick with Adobe Premiere. of course Adobe sucks because its specific on exactly what codecs you are using (all programs do that though) I guess I am too lazy to install the plugins needed.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

I, for one, love Avid Media Composer's color correction tools.  It lets you color correct each individual shot in your timeline, and you can save color-correction templates to use on similar shots so you don't have to go through the whole process 9 times when you use the same take that would require the same CC nine different times.

Though honestly, I'm not very good at CC work, and I don't know a whole hell of a lot about it.  I just used it to fix the contrast/brightness on a friend's black & white music video and found it very easy to use and intuitive.

I think ILM used Avid and then bought them. I read that somewhere. It is a very good program. I used to use Final Cut Pro but its not really that thorough. Vegas just takes up to much space. I really need to get a computer just for video editing. The one im using is for Video, Hardcore Gaming, BUKU music, Music Production, and Pictures/Dvd covers (new favorite hobby)

Maybe he's got a mental illness? If that's the case then this is just sad.

I love everybody. Lets all smoke some reefer and chill. Hug and kisses for everybody.

Taking screencaps and clicking auto color correct and uping the contrast does not constitute as "Color Correction"

I have to say that after so many insults posted here against me, it's a great feeling to read your positive comments about my work.

Thanks Sumguy21!

Now I need you guys to get me a good raw OSWT transfer so I can fix it a.s.a.p.

Exactly!

It's not about whose transfer is better; it's about working as a team to get this project done.

I'm good at color correction, someone else is good at fixing the audio, someone else at synchronizing the video frames and sound, someone else at making a great DVD with menus and extras, etc.

I'm pretty good at autio manipulation as you may or may not have noticed, that youtube video I uploaded featured a remastered version of the main title music for Star Wars.

Cool!

You see, if we organize ourselves, we can get this project done.

We're an army of Fans, who will never again accept cheap OSWT transfers from George Lucas.

"Insults" and whether you really are good at color correction or not (honestly, not so much) aside, can you guys move this discussion to another thread?

And so, back to the topic ...

Hey, guys. I'm still around. ...

Thanks for the update and happy to hear you're still on The XØ Project (even with it's obvious change of focus).

Those of us who have the laser disc sets might want a plain backup or transfer to view through our alternate devices. Apart from the XØ restoration proper, can anything be done in this regard?

I was just thinking, the X0 project would make a great mystery movie:  4 dudes working on a SW preservation effort, mysteriously disappearing one by one, never to be heard from again.  The climax of the film could be discovering that it is George himself who is hunting down the team members in an attempt to halt any version of SW that looks better than the GOUT from hitting the public.

Nice, but a little predictable, though. ;)

How about if in the final showdown, George tells Laserman: "I am your father!!  Join me and together we'll make more changes to the SE.  It is your destiny!!!"

And then Steven Spielberg comes out from nowhere, grabs George, and throws him off...something.
