ACTION SET PIECES:

Ideas for the big BANG POW moments in Episode 1.

* Monster- Ever see an Ant-lion? Horrid little bugs that dig holes in the sand, and when an ant falls in, they dig the sand out from underneath the ant, making the ant slide towards them and get eaten. How about some kind of monster like that on Tatoiine, that can be in some dangerous location that Anakin, Obi, and the gang are chased into by the baddies, and the baddies wind up eaten while the heroes escape?

* Lightsaber Duel- Obi and the Light Saber Baddie (a villian with a lightsaber, who I think should be Palpy's aprentice, even if we don't meet Palpy in Ep. 1) fight. LSB gets his saber destroyed. The fight becomes a wrestling match, grappling over possesion of the one lightsaber- pushing and pulling the blade at your opponent while trying to maintain control. Kind of a MMA fight... with a lightsaber. (I'm really trying to imagine action bits that stand out from the OT and the PT). Imagine how lethal rolling around grappling with an activated lightsaber might be!

* Space Ship Action- During the 'storming the castle' finale, Anakin actually pilots the Angle Blue (what I call his ship) INTO the capital of Alderaan. Past space fighters, past surface to air defenses, and shatters the enourmous stained glass window, landing the ship inside the cathedral-like Throne room. This would be cool to watch and establish Anakin as the best and most reckless pilot alive. It also lessons the need for a big space battle climax which might seem to deriviative of Star Wars and Jedi.
