Vaderios, just for fun...can you tackle a few other shots from the PT? Naboo space battle...Jango/Obi space chase...ROTS opening battle...?

Will do sometime later :)

Back to TPM and to its pink colors.

And lol! The droids look like ROTS

Golly!

I still think that the Naboo streets look a bit too mustardy as do the people (but the sky is lush), the rest however are a complete revelation it's like when they cleaned all the soot of the Sistine Chapel.

It 's like a very different film (get rid of their stupid voices and I could grow to love those battle droids).

Probably for Rush i left the people yellowish. As for the street i liked the idea that the sun is hitting it.

Who made this movie? Pink Floyd?

If I keep raining you with exclamatory praise I will run serious risk of sounding like Jake Lloyd but...er Woohoo!

I want to see this film.

I was thinking of storyboarding a sequence where Amidala's ship double's as a sub so she can meet Boss Nass at the Gungan City instead of the 'sacred place'.

If you want to beat me to the post please do (if a craft can survive fast than light travel why not double as a sub?).

some one should redo the visual effects of tpm so it matches with aotc and rots

I couldnt resist to put it in Full rez. Its one of my favorites scenes.

Now notice. The fist image has a "feeling", a retro mood that reminds backgrounds of 8bit consoles. I love it either way.

Still i change it for a better match with the Ep II and III.

I was thinking the same. Only, after her ship is landing maybe you can just cut to Qui Gonn, Obi and Jar Jar approaching and going into the water. Then when they meet Boss Nass, a hologram of the Queen appears right after Boss Nass says that he don't like the Naboo. (We need a scene where the good guys explain to Boss Nass what happens on the surface before the Queen asks them to help her, I think.)

Then:

- Whossa this?

- I am Queen Amidala (etc...)

Plus I think a hologram of the Queen would be much easier to do than to replace the whole set behind all the characters. (Some set behind Boss Nass would need some replacement though)

Great color correction work on those TPM shots, vaderios! I don't think it works on all of them, but most of them look way better, especially those of the Droideka's in the hangar, the battledroids on the Trade Federation ship, and Amidala's ship landing in the swamp. Funny that I never noticed the pink hue before.

Great job on the edited shots of Amidala's ship arriving on Coruscant too! Did you add in some ROTJ concept art in the background in the second one?

I just Google Coruscant and took a good picture of it.

love the mockups vaderios, and the addition of a deathstar style shield behind the cruiser is awesome!

i think the pink hue gives tpm a stomach churning warm and fuzzy look, almost rose tinted. i guess this was to make it seem a bit more childlike, with the saga darkening as it progressed. how about having tpm almost antique like enstead, possibly like the opening of the fellowship of the ring? the stunning gold hues vaderios worked into the scenes would work well with this.

Those shots are great, Vaderios!  What an improvement!  Just proves there's actually a good looking film buried somewhere beneath the pink haze.  It's baffling that we've been living with TPM's substandard image quality since '99.  Why does Lucasfilm insist on putting out inferior product time and time again?  I wonder if it's laziness or just apathy.  For all the edits we have out there for TPM, it's amazing that no one has even tried to tackle the color correction.

What's stopping you from putting out a color-corrected version of the entire film, Vaderios?  Saw your AOTC stuff too in the SOTDS thread.  Looks great!

I use Photoshop only. So a full color correction is impossible to do it. I make the examples so you guys have a base to work with :D

Well, you've certainly inspired me.  That battle droid shot alone is enough to make we want to dive into it again.  :)

Thanks for interestingly trying to fix the pink tint, from what I understand it's just the DVD.  However, I prefer the original Coruscant skyline in the shot of Qui-Gon and Obi, mostly because I got more out of it; felt less like obvious CG (no offense to Vaderios' work, which is always awesome).  Curious, what kindof color levels are you using to correct these few scenes?  It would be interesting to see the movie without that pink tint.

It looks more decent!

As for the colors i use variations of tools to achieve the desire effect.
