No, actually I tried to end the discussion because I saw it was likely to descend into us just chucking personal insults at each other and I wanted to avoid that. Plus I was sick of talking to you.

Clearly you interpreted it in a way that suited the needs of your ego. But as you can see from posts above, my argument is doing quite well against yours. Yours is not helped by the fact that you seem dead set against understanding my point of view at all. So, as you see, I don't in fact lack confidence in my point of view. And to be honest, I see your point of view as a case of not seeing the big picture.
