Does anybody have any idea if Jango Fett was a character Lucas invented way back or if he was a later invention?
Personally I suspect him of being a later invention, but I don't know.
First anyone had ever heard of him was Episode II. The whole Boba Fett back story as seen in Episode II did not exist prior to that film. However, there has always been a connection between Boba and the cloned soldiers in some vague way.

i heard bobba fett was the original donor. only of course, he was a kid. idk, if the kaminoans kidnapped him or
something and did experiments. i wish there was a little more back story to jengo fett though. i feel the same way
about him as when i first saw bobba fett. who is this guy? he's a bounty hunter and a feared one yes, but what's his
story? what's under the helmet? now that i've seen the PT and read some of the EU, i've a better idea of bobba fett.
But there's very little said of jengo fett.
Ever notice how in AOTC he's called 'the bounty hunter Jango Fett,' although in actuality he's a political assassin and glorified sperm donor?
Yeah, that's always puzzled me. Actually, he doesn't even come across as an assassin: he hires someone else to do the work for him!
So Jango = glorified sperm donor + shady "middleman"?

as the most feared bounty hunter in the galaxy and the madalore, (president of mandalore) he sure is a wuss.
Like everything in the prequels except for Obi-wan having Anakin for an apprentice and there being "Clone Wars" was made up in the 1990s and onward, if that early.

Well, a bit more than that was around early on. I mean, Lucas had midiclorians invented in 1977 (see Rinzler's Making of the Star Wars). It sure looks like a lot was invented later on, but seeing as some stuff actually dates back to early stages, I want to find out what actually was invented long ago and wgat wasn't.
He had midiclorians down in '77?!... well, I'm very glad he didn't pollute the OT with that bollocks...
