I concur that the snow could be removed from the AT-AT headshots,I think the snow adds character, why remove it? It's not like machinery can't pick up snow... those walkers are tall and the wind is going to be blowing snow and flakes will accumulate as they move around.
(1) would snow clump up on vertical parts of machinery (especially when you consider heat from the lower guns would melt it, and the movement of the AT-AT would shake it)? Ice maybe (DEADLIEST CATCH anyone?), but snow?
(2) is there snow on other parts of the AT-AT?
(3) even more important: is there consistency between these close-up head shots and the other AT-AT scenes where you can see the head? If snow is going to remain on the head shots above, then you have to add the snow in the other shots showing the head as well. That, or remove the snow in the shots above. Either way.
