Remember the second in the old trilogy had some good moments too but ended up being overall crap.

I lOVE Temple of Doom. And here's why:

1- I care more about the fate of innocent childreens than what happened to the ark of the convenant.

2- I love to hate Willie Scott

3- Short Round, not too bad for a kid in big movie IMO.

4- Non stop action, what a treat.

5- The darkest AND the funniest of the 4. (We...are..going...to...diiiiie!!!)

6- I like the fact that the movie is focusing (mainly) on one location.

7 - I like the fact that this movie shows us Indy before the event of Raiders, when he is just a man who want fortune and glory (and discover along the way that fortune is not the ultimate goal). And so I don't like the River Phoenix opening in Crusade where Indy is already a museum freak).

8- Mola Ram, best Indy bad guy. I mean, okay, Bellocq is a better character for sure, he's smart and all; but to the point he's almost a good guy. Mola Ram is just one dimensional bad guy, and I think it fits that movie very well.

9- I don't fall asleep when I watch TOD these days. Unlike Crusade.

10- That music during the sacrifice is so evil. Man, good job mister Williams.

11- Best Harrison Ford performance of the 4.

So, yes, Raiders is the best movie on a cinematographical point of view, no doubt about that, but to me TOD is just behind for its fun and for the ride treatment. THEN Skull... but I guess it is because I almost can't watch Crusade anymore.
