I thought it would be cool if Dooku had the only Green lightsaber other than Luke because he "stepped out" of the normal doctrine of the Jedi (but he would not use lghtning or anything and we would not know he was a Sith until later on) then when Luke builds one the audience becomes uneasy about his future.
