I agree with other posters who dislike this idea. For me, RotS is watchable up to the point when Palpatine starts speaking with like 7 voices. I was literally embarassed in the theater when I heard that. Ridiculous.

Combined feelings here. Sure it sounded odd. I found it a bit of his transformation process and how the evil was unleashed until it stabilized. The part i hated was in the senate scene (the remaining jedi will be hunted.....) that was ridiculus.

From the other side the whole point of the voice in ROTJ was the first impression.We see the ruler of the galaxy as a weak old evil dude which surprises us at the end with his powers.

Final point of all these: Radical change ROTS voice :)
