God, this sort of bullshit explanation just totally kills the magic and mystery of sw. I don't give a sh1t where the Sarlaac came from or what it actually is, it's just a cool freaky idea that got my imagination going when I was a kid.
If your stupid star wars money-making encyclopedia said the sarlacc pit was actually a big pussy in the desert (which it clearly is) you'd accept that too I suppose.
