I have the NTSC DVD9 and I love it but for maximum quality (and speed boost) I would like to have the PAL DVD9. Does it exist anywhere anymore? Linktalk and P2P (torrent/ed2k) don't seem to have it.

Interesting- I love the pacing of the original NTSC, and would never watch it in PAL. :P

I don't think anyone can notice the 4% speed difference. You just save ~5min of your life for other things. And in this case it brings this classic yet another tiny bit closer to the prequel trilogy tempo. Also I don't like the idea of double frames in the video. Not only is PAL motion smoother, the bitrate is also more efficiently used (only the original frames + ~5min less audio to encode). So...what can I do to get the PAL DVD9? Or is it some kind of secret?

The thing is, it depends on what you're watching it on. I have no problem with PAL (all my WRC DVDs are PAL), but it sure doesn't look as good as NTSC on my NTSC television. More jagged and just not as nice overall when it has to switch like that.

Hello

I am new here and came across this site by accident.

I have been a star wars fan and I really impressed at what you have done to the this film.  You have made it better looking that the original.  The colors are definely much much better that the SE dvd and am glad you fixed those horrible edited scene and FX.

My favoutrite bits is the start with laser fight in the corridor of Tantive IV.  Really brings back memories of my childhood.  Corridors really look white and sharp.  The other ones is obivously Greedo which i am glad you brought back.  Lucas's version sucked big time.  Also the attack on the death star.  That was the most impressive and much more dynamic.

Vader and ben's sabre fight I am really starting to enjoy and last a bit longer.

The scene where the death star is first shown is very well done, but I personally still like the original, but that is personal taste.

But all in all it is a far superior version to the original.

Thanks again

Adywan your work is amazing. There is only one bit I really miss which is C3PO's reaction when R2 is hit during the Death Star battle.

Anyway I'm amazed by your work thus far. Looking forward to your further releases.

Also I'm looking for the Purist edition online. Could someone please PM me an active link. I can't find one.

Thanks!

I almost dare not ask, but is there a German audio track available?

(I know, what about the Dutch, the French, the Spaniards...)

But as you maybe (don't) know, the Germans were hit especially hard by the Special Edition(s). I'm still hurting all over because of those ghastly redubs of Vader's voice. And then it's OUR HDTV recording that you folks're using over & over ;-)))

Do a search for a site called LinkTalk.  They have a section there were FanEdit.org now puts all their RS links.  Look for the Revisited thread in there.

My outlook on life - we’re all on the Hindenburg anyway…no point fighting over the window seat.

Have an idea for a version of Revisited (and eventually for EMPIRE and JEDI)...

STAR WARS REVISITED - THE THEATRICAL EXPERIENCE

The lights dim.  The curtains part.  The audio sounds like the acoustics of an auditorium, with that familiar movie theater echo.  And the image has that film-like projection quality.

Seeing STAR WARS theatrically is pure magic.  And a version like this would be a fun novelty, and might just recreate some of that magic.

Anyway.  Just an idea.

Had a party last weekend where me and some pals watched "The Phantom Edit" and "Revisited." thought I'd share some feedback.

TOTALLY LOVED
The Obi-Wan/Vader fight. Everyone marked out.
The Mos Eisley alien masks, especially Greedo.
Battle droid head (one dude caught it, then we had to rewind).
New Death Star attack PowerPoint.

MIXED REACTION
The Hyperspace tunnel and blue-tint.

MOSTLY DIDN'T CARE FOR
The electro-needle torture thing.

Many of the rest of the alterations went unnoticed, although I'm sure they were subconciously appreciated. Good time had by all.

I'm surprised about the mixed reaction (one of my favorite things about the entire edit!) and not at all surprised about the 'mostly didn't care for' (I didn't care for it either).

I will be sending out another DVD-9 of the movie to someone who basically has no clue that this world of fanedits exists. I'm also sendinf Deleted Magic, JD's two, ADM's Spoofs and a few more. I think he'll love 'em. :)

Some of the crew dug it, and the other half went "what the hell is that? Why are they blue?"

Apparently the few seconds we actually see the inside of hyperspace in the normal versions didn't make a memorable impression.

Well, this thread pushed me into registering so I can post.

Saw the YouTube clips - they look fantastic, but I can't find the download for the DVD9 at all - either on ABSW or torrents. I'm only able to retrieve ABSW messages back to last August.

Can anyone provide any guidance?

I'm with DhruvK; I registered instantly when I saw this, and was amazed at the clips!

I don't know where to download the DVD9.  I think I'm going to need some guidance as well.  Thank you so much in advance!!

Hey! don't mean do be a drag... but I could really use some guidance as well in finding and obtaining the DVD9 PAL version...

I'm so impatient about watching this version! I haven't been so excited about Star Wars in 20 years =)

It seems someone has uploaded revisited to youtube in it's entirety. They could have at least got the aspect ratio right...

Indeed. And it's been out for... 2 months? I'm surprised somebody hasn't noticed this before. Lol @ the youtube comments. They have no idea how large the project is...
