Im still fighting with it to do basic crap like resize and colour tint selected layers (im stupid see). I know theres loads of tutorials out there but im trying to teach myself (so as to make me less retarded). But I guess i agree that Photoshop is epic though, based on what youve achieved with it vaderios ;-)

I'm a self taught too but my teacher is an ass and I'm a lazy student.

Ady uses mostly still image manipulation to do a lot of his shots, so if you got yourself After Effects you could turn these single frame epics into full blown movie sequences.

I'm going to get into using Cinelerra for my stab at making the Exorcist prequels into one watchable film (because it's free) but you clearly have a head start and an eye for what works.

I can do Animation. The problem is I dont know ( and I dont want to know :P) how to convert some parts of dvd to .mov files.

I asked in some other pages to bring me somebody some shots to test on them.

Yes you right. AE is an other pain in the ass because of the diferent keyboard shortcuts than PS.

Im curious as to what you can do with the Wampa reveal vaderios, not that i want you to overwhelm Adys work. We just want it to look less like the horned Wampa in later shots. Any take on this mate?

Also i agree the space slug needs to look more like a cave now that i can see the visuals (its funny how enhanced images can warp your mind if you look at them when then they just look sort of right). At first i didnt agree with the idea, but anything that looks less like than a hand puppet is a big improvement (hopefully im prepared to be surprised by master ady).

I just got photoshop and I have no idea how to do anything with it. I know this is the wrong thread, but I would like to see some ROTJ picture ideas too.

Nice, but um...kinda makes it look like he's made of metal with a glow like that. ;)

Maybe the fur caught fire? as it is an 'of the moment of slicing' still as it burns out very quickly when cut.

robo wampa! i know its not what ou intended, but i love the idea, the fur burning, which it would! could that idea go on the listy list?

We won't be seeing the Wampa (I hope, because that SE addition was as bad as the epIII "NOOOOO"), but wouldn't the yellow/red fire on the arm be a bit distracting (from the otherwise white/blue shot)?

Why is everyone so anti SE wampa?

Indeed. After seeing the old versions, I actually like the SE additions. I admit that the continuity is off, but the "sliding arm" isn't exactly ominous. At all. :P

Hmm. Seems like the best, if maybe impossible, thing to do would be to get a better looking wampa in those shots. Best of both worlds.

Adywan, I want to apologize in advance if I sound like I'm beating a dead horse, but I'd like to discuss the giant wind vane inside Cloud City a little further.  That brief wideshot of the vane and the concept that the carbon freezing chamber is supposed to exist inside of it has always bothered me.  Speaking as someone who has studied engineering, structurally it doesn't make any sense and even if it did it's ridiculously convoluted and inefficient to put the chamber in such a remote location with only one access pathway to and from it.  It's been discussed earlier by others that the chamber should be in the wall and the tunnel Luke walks through could  be the support arm to the vane.  This has been my long held belief as well.  Others have also suggested raising the position of the support arm to the vane so it's at the same level as the circle window to reinforce this opinion.  You have already vetoed this suggestion, which is your right.

I have another suggestion I hope you would consider.  Instead of changing the position of the support arm how about changing the position of the window, the pod, and the gantry?  Lower all three of these items farther down on the vane so the window is at the same level as the arm.  This change would not compromise the current design of the vane nor would it compromise the close up shots of Luke and Vader on the gantry.  You might have to add a couple extra inches to the gantry in the wideshot since the vane is wider at the bottom and I would eliminate the alarm you hear in the background once Luke exits the tunnel.  I don't know how difficult all this would be for you to change, but I believe lowering the window, the pod, and the gantry would please all sides.  Those of us who believe that it makes more sense for the chamber to be in the wall get the correction which then makes the vane shot more logical and those who think that the chamber should always remain inside the vane can continue to believe that since you've moved the pod also.  It's a win win.  Of course the final decision is yours to make, Ady.  Thank you for your time and for listening to our feedback, Adywan.  Keep up the good work.

Yeah I never understood how Luke fighting in the corridors of Bespin, to entering the Carbon room and the following fight in the room with the window could have all happened in that tiny flat vane thing or whatever it is. Just doesn't make any sense, and after 20 odd years of watching Empire, I never once thought it all happened in that teeny, tiny place.

But shit man, after watching Empire 100's of times, I never noticed half the mistakes and errors you bastards have pointed out. Way to spoil a film guys, yeah....cheers!!

;)
