i'll see what i can do vaderios, if you post up the processes in photoshop you did, or redo them, but just tweaking RGB settings and BRIGHTNESS/CONTRAST, i will post sample clips if you want?

Concerning the topic of making the prequels look like they were filmed on film:

I indeed found a nice little function in my video program which helps to give videos a more cinematic look.

So I have done two little videos to show this to you. Don't expect too much, it's just a decent change.

It doesn't really make CGI things look real, but it gives the scenes filmed digitally a look like they were filmed on film.

The second video clip is the same as the first one, just with the effect applied a bit more stronger:

I guess you'll notice the effect mostly on the skin of the actors. I like the sceond clip most^^

Tell me what you think!

Not bad! It adds a bit something from the oldies :)

Can someone has or can rip the factory scene and send it to me in .mov format?

I want to try to post a clip with the color corection

thx :)

looks interesting, though i'd like to see it on some more CG shots.:) what video program did you use?

i hate to say the music choice wasnt my cup of tea!;)

lol yeah the music isn't to be taken seriously^^

I use Magix Video Deluxe.

Unfortunately the effect doesn't work so great on CG shots like on filmed shots.

But these videos are EARLY results of playing around with this effect, so I'll continue to try some things with it...

Good stuff! But I'm pretty sure that scene will most likely be cut out.

does ady have any plans to rename the prequels?

i always like seeing alternatives as the PT titles just dont sound as iconic as the OT ones.

I like "TPM" and "ROTS" but "AOTC" always sounded dumb to me.

I'd have dug 'The Clone War' as a title. More dramatic.

I like to think back the original titles

STAR WARS

the EMPIRE STRIKES BACK

RETURN of the JEDI

but the new ones are all a bit, well, either:

PHANTOM MENACE   - too criptic for what should be a punchy first off title (still stand by 'the star wars as a title if we are to pretend its the first film.:P, but understand if thats unpopular!)

ATTACK of the CLONES   -I thought was fine, except its not really that true for the film. the clones attack the badguys, and they dont even appear until the end! SHROUD of the DARKSIDE was so much better! As the film is much more of a romantic thriller, something mysterious is better. perhaps even 'the phantom menace!'

REVENGE of the SITH   -I was SO disappointed by this title, its just a rehash of REVENGE OF THE JEDI title that preceded RETURN OF THE JEDI.

Personally if i was to think of another name, something without 'of the' in the middle would be awesome.

The Clone War would be great title, but the war doesnt really happen until the end. It would have been better if AOTC was episode I, then a CLONE WAR film was episode II that could allow episode III to not be so rushed...oh well...;P

Always hated The Phantom Menace as a title. It doesn't have that Star Wars feel to it.

Attack of the Clones is okay, but it contradicts the film.

Revenge of the Sith is my favorite of the prequel titles. In fact, I like it more than Return of the Jedi, title-wise.

My title ideas

Episode I: The Chosen, The Beginning, The Sith Revealed

Episode II: Rise of the Clones, Shroud of the Dark Side, The Clone War

Episode III: I think it should be kept the same but if not; Rise of the Empire/Sith, Fall of the Republic/Jedi

A New Hope sounds fine as an episode IV title (the film doesn't have Star Wars in it just on battle and a few skirmishes).

The Empire Strikes Back makes sense, I'd have called Episode VI The Return Of The Jedi personally as it underlines both the return of the order and the return of a particular Jedi (but it's a minor quibble).

The Phantom Menace, sort of works but sort of doesn't, the major turning point here is the return of the Sith (which make a good bookend title in itself) and the invasion of Naboo (which almost works too) I quite like Attack From The Shadows as the Sith are acting in the shadows and are making a first move rather than out and out war.

Attack Of The Clones really doesn't work, the main plot point is Seperatist movement so I'd go for something like On Worlds Divided. That covers the Seperatists and sounds a bit like "By The Sword Divided" a civil war drama, it also covers the divided son and mother, the seperate worlds of Anakin and Padme, politics and the Jedi faith.

Revenge Of The Sith works rather well but the main drama is the fall of the republic, the fall of Anakin, the fall of the Jedi and the rise of the Empire. Rise Of The Sith bookends Episode VI much better than the Revenge because we never really found out why the Sith wanted revenge in the first place but we know why they want to rise to power and if they rise all others must fall (and like Jedi it refers to the order and a specific member of that order).

The only proof of how the shields look is here, and in a brief moment in TPM:

I dont like this. Its too specific and the energy like thing is too common. I love/d the invisible something that surrounding the ships and the only indication of it are the shots that explodes before they hit.

What about the Gungan bubble shields in TPM

Right But I was refering to the Ships deflector shilelds. You have a point :) Imagine a nightmare of that shield placed in Hoth battle :S

-Angel

I've copied this over from the ESB/ROTJ wishlist thread.

It would be nice to have the Gungan shield become invisible after activation and only be visable when something smacks into it.

This would tie in more with the OT.

An idea of less colorful shots. Still i like the idea of stealing lightsabers from Jedis :)

That would be great if someone wanted to go down the Maul Grievous route.

Any chance of doing a mock-up of the Boba Fett leaving Tatooine and selling the Death Star location idea mentioned a few posts back as a mock up?

I don't want to turn you into a mock-up machine so only do it if you have the time and the inclination.

What boba and DS location?

Maul-Grievous route? Grievous talks too much :P

-Angel

A few posts back the idea was kicked around of having Boba Fett leave Tatooine before the Sail Barge fight on a job (the job being selling the Death Star/Emperor location to the Rebels, instead of the Bothans so he doesn't get killed and does his job which is Bounty hunting).

So we'd need a shot of Slave One leaving Tatooine at night, one approaching the rebel fleet, and one of him keeping out of sight in the briefing room negotiating his price but out of sight of Han & Co.

Up to the task?

As for Grievous Maul it could be done if he was redubbed but I'm not sure about it myself.

Darth Grievous

It should be possible to change all of the General's lines and add a few lines of Maul into the prequels via other sources like TPM video game.

Ah! That was in other topic i think.

Ye i see what i can do :)

Edit: The idea is good, but i see no point to see boba's arival. He is not a main character and i like the idea of the not all visible like AOTC that the camera folows Jango to Geonosis after the asteroid chase.

Its good to see some hangar shots with slave1 in the background and Mr boba to make the deal and of course his departure from the hangar.

Sorry I got my threads mixed up, I'm pushing so many ideas from one to the other that it's understandable I might get confused, put it down to old age.

It think some of the Cloud City shots from ESB might work inside the Rebel ship (white walls and all) though we would possibly need to get a voice actor who sounds a bit like Boba Fett to add a few lines (but maybe not he manages to get the job done with very little speaking in ESB).

But that is rightfully a discussion for the ESB/ROTJ wish list thread.

To mind the standard colors for jedi lightsabers should have been blue and yellow instead of blue and green.

Only Yoda and Qui-Gon and a few others should have had green.

Why yellow?

i would have liked to see all the prequel jedi have blue only, although varying shades of blue would have worked well. this would mean in ROTJ, that the green was almost like the beginning of the new jedi.
