I must say he doesn't look like good Star Wars villain to me . He looks like he belongs in horror movie but not Stars Wars.
I can already tell that epIII is going to suck.

He wears a cape and in battle his arms split in two so that he can battle with four lightsabers at once.

I wish I was making that up

How can you say something like that, the movie is not going to be coming out for another year and a half. Who the hell are you to be making predictions like that. Do you know what the story will be, do you know what is going to happen? Do you know have any idea what so ever of what Gorge Lucas plans to do? Are you part of the production? The answer is NO. Everything you just said above was absolute bullshit and it didnt play on any facts. Did Darth Maul look like a starwars villain. At first, not really, he looked like freak from a marvel comic. Did he make a cool villian, yes, and did he work out yes.

Now look I understand if you want disagree and think that epIII will be great, but do you have to say that what I said was absolute bulllbleep

who am I to making predictions like this ? I am just long time Star Wars fan and movie fan giving my opinion thats all. You bring up Darth Maul and call him a cool villian. I say he can't clean the dirt off Vader's boots. My assumption is (and yea I could be wrong) that epIII will be make in the same style that epI and epII were made in. Both, in my opinion sucked. Lucas couldn't make a good movie anymore if his life depended on it . Like I said in another thread I believe that he has cracked. He thinks he's god. He thinks he know everything and doesn't give a damn what the fans want(hence the existence of this forum). All he cares about is own vision. He is making the new trilogy to suit him not the fans. That is a BIG mistake. The same thing happened when Coppola made Godfather part 3. He made it to suit him and not fans and of course, it stunk! Godfather part 1 and 2 and the OT were made for the fans and not for the director/producer. They were made to entertain us not to fullfill the vision of a high and mighty producer/director. In short give the people what they want. But I don't think that Lucas will do that. He will make epIII to suit him and it will stink.

But that is just my opinion. Maybe you liked ep1 and 2. Maybe you like movies with lots of Jar Jar Binks(stinks), bad scripts, sloppy ploting, lots of CGI crap, bad acting, and flat characters. If that floats you boat then maybe epIII is for you. But it ain't for me. So there!

Ok here I go again. Another PT OT arguement. Warbler first off, STARWARS IS NOT YOURS. You may enjoy it, you may feel that you have say in it cus you supported it but ill say it again. STARWARS IS NOT YOURS. If Gorge lucus wants to make it his way then there he does. It is his call how or how not to make the movies. Another thing GL is not a god, there is no way in my opinion that one guys can come out with 2 villians of the same caliber as Vader. Vader will go down in history as one of the greatest and most memoriable villians in cinema history. Next GL made the OT for himself you cannot say that he made it fro the fans because the fan did not exist at the time. No one knew the Starwars was going to become a big hit before it came outso you cant say that the OT was made for the fans. lastly i pose a question. What exactly in your opinion made the PT bad. You have to rember Before you answer that the OT dealt with one small charater on a few focused adventures, where as the PT deals with alot of characters on a galatic scale.

Actually I felt one of the biggest problems with AotC was that GL tried to hard to make for the fans. In the end thats how I look at the PT, its fanfiction that happens to be written by GL. TPM was a flawed movie, but it was an honest mistake and I felt like I was getting GL's vision, miscaluclated as it may hve been in spots.

AotC just felt like an apology for TPM. It seemed like a laundry list of fanboy complaints being addressed. And Ep3 will be the same way. Why else do you think that Chewbacca is it, or that Yoda now has two big fights (given that the yoda battle was the one thing most people liked in AOTC) the fact that the emperor will have one maybe two saber duels.

Grievous is the ultimate example of this because he seems like a character that fanboys would dream up. "He's like Vader, but like beter then Vader"
"Yeah because he looks like the terminator, but he wears a cape"
"Yeah cause capes are cool"
"Yeah and he's tougher then darth maul, cause he uses like four sabers at once"
"Dude thats awesome"

Will the character work onscreen? I'll reserve final judgement until I see the movie, but it certainly seems like he could be the weaklink of this movie. He's a new villian who's pretty pointless and dies quickly, who ultimately stealing screentime that should of been given to Dooku, thus rendering him a villian who was pretty pointless and dies quickly.

yeah but your not saying that a movie is going to suck a year and half b4 it comes out because the villian doesnt fit your veiws of what a SW villian should be.

I'm not saying it will definitely suck, but i can see how people see this character as problematic at best.

Ok first off Your right when you say that Lucas can make Stars Ways his way. However that does not mean I have to like it. Yes Star Wars is not mine but if it weren't for me and the rest of the fans there would be no Star Wars or least no sequels. The fans bought the tickets, toys, videos, books, clothes and other merchandise that made him his millions. And yea of course there were no Star Wars fan before Star Wars came I was really refering to movie fans in general. Stars Wars was made to entertain the viewer, The PT was made for Lucas to fullfill his dream.

As for why I think epIII is going to suck, as I said before lots of Jar,Jar Binks(stinks), bad acting, flat characters. poor plots, lots of CGI crap, a horrible script. Why do I believe the epIII will contain these things? Simply because ep 1 and 2 did and I believe that he will make epIII in the same style. Please note I am not the only one to criticize ep 1 and 2. Put yourselve in my shoes. If you thought that ep 1 and 2 sucked and could'nt hold a match much less a candle to the Ot, and you believed that epIII was going to be made in the same style as ep 1 and 2 would you or would not conclude that epIII will suck as well?

I hope I'm wrong but I doubt it and if I am I'll be glad to eat crow. If you liked ep 1 and 2 you will probably love ep3. Just understand that not everybody did and therefor they will probably not like ep3 as well.

P.S.

You say Lucas is not a God, I agree so tell me why you worship him like he is a god and why do you act like he can do no wrong and get angry at those who dare question his "great vision"?

Well if it makes you feel any better Jar jar is barely in Ep3, even less then he was ep2. Basically just a cameo.

Personally I like jar jar so I'm not to happy about it, but at the very least that should comfort some people.

I said this exact thing after I left the theater when AOTC came out. I think it's cool that he does actually listen to fans, despite what he says. He obviously hears feedback from at least some people in his completely isolated Skywalker Ranch.

But I think he's just got the wrong idea of what people want. If you have a kickass story, with adequate dialogue, likeable characters, and you direct the hell out of it, people are going to love the movie. Instead he fixed things like lessening Jar Jar's screentime, no more poop/fart jokes, made it a lot darker than TPM, made it more adult, etc.. etc.. While these things are fine and good, they aren't central to how much a movie will be liked.

Exactly. Why reduce Jarjar's screentime when you can just develop the character, why forget about Midichlorians when you can redeem the idea with further info (ie tie it into the cloning somehow)

ANd there were other things, Jango seemed like sort of a fans wet dream, and the whole Yoda fighting, Padme's ripped shirt, etc. It just felt a lot like fan fiction, thats the best way I can explain it. Forgetting the OT entirely I don't think AOTC really feels like a sequel to TPM, I don't feel it connects very well with the first film. Two things that I think were really set up and not followed through with were Anakin freeing the slaves, and the jedi searching for the sith master. In the same way that Obi-wan was tracking the assassin, I think it would of been cool to learn that someone like Mace windu had been out in the galaxy for months (maybe years) following leads and searching for Darth Sidious.

Why develope a character that stinks? I would have had him on the ship blows up at the begining of the movie. End him once and for all!

I say forget about the Midichlorians it was bad Idea to begin with. They were never in the OT and should never have been in the PT

I agree I think they should have should done these things

Sorry I can't forget about the OT. And thats the real problem with PT in that it doesn't feel like a sequel to the OT. It seems like Lucas is changing the OT to make it fit with the PT. When what he should do is make the PT fit with the OT.

But a film should be the directors vision, it shouldn't be made to cater to fans. Read SW fanfiction, most of its awful.

I'm not saying the PT is good, but its bad for entirely different reasons.

I'm sure he'll be a fun character, my only concern is that he distracts from the overall story, I'd rather some better developed villians then a new one in each movie that dies.
